Why is the country bear playhouse listed as a refurb. When we all know that it is closed ?

 I dunno but it's one I'll miss! :(

My guess is because they hope to turn it into a Pooh ride at some point, and it just sounds better in Disney spin to call it a refurb. :) It is definitely closed.

Now, you know that Disney would never put a "spin" on a ride closure...you know that they would NEVER be anything but upfront and honest with their guests! I bet there is a logical explanation...maybe they are going to open Country Bears over in the Submarine Lagoon! Or maybe at the Ranch!! There's an empty spot in Tomorrowland! Maybe the Plaza Pavilion has some room?! Maybe they will put them over in Motorboat River, you know, like the Care Bear thing they did! Maybe either one of the Skyway launches....Rocket Rods?

Roy :-)

P.S. I just read that the Carousel of Progress is "Closed for Refurbishment" at WDW....hope anyone who wanted to see it, saw it!

I'd look for the bears to reappear over at DCA. Just like MSEP, this one's in their back pocket to use when they fail to increase traffic. There's a nice little grassy spot now next to the Grand Californian that never appears to be used. I'll place my bets there.

but my money is for Country Bears to reappear over in the Bountiful Farm area. There is a lot of space there. (Actually, there is a lot of space all OVER DCA!) You know, when people first started yelling about the lack of rides in DCA compared to Disneyland, I remember reading someone's tongue and cheek post about "maybe they'll even it up by moving rides from Disneyland to DCA." Make it 30-30 instead of 42-18. It looks like that may have been a prophetic post.
The math is simple for Disney.....$86 for two parks makes a whole lot more money than $43 for one park. I guess they think that Walt had gave us a little too much over in Disneyland for our money...but don't worry...I'm sure they'll fix his oversight.

Roy :-)

Rumour is some of the Bear parts are on the way to Paris. I don't think they'll show up in DCA, at least not as is. The best hope for a west coast Bears shows is something set up at the Hungry Bear Restaurant. There was a rumour they were looking at that, but the idea appears to have been dropped.
