My daughter is a HUGE fan of Buzzlightyear. We went to Disneyland around Xmas and ended up watching the Buzz live show 3 times in 2 days. It seems that there are tons of buzz fans.

Why isn't there a character meal with Buzz? We will definately sign up and it probably will be a big hit. My kids don't even recognize Chip and Dale and they don't care for any of the princesses.

Am I the only one who think this would be a great idea?

I ask this question all the time! I have heard it has to do with character licensing, and I have also heard it is because the bulky costumes to not allow for enough interaction.

Regardless, I've heard that a Toy Story meal is in the works (but hasn't materialized in the 6 months or so I've been hearing that). My DS is Buzz crazy too so I hope they do work something out so that we can have waffles with Buzz!

Oh boy, we had a huge thread going about this very topic a few weeks ago! Many parents would love a Toy Story meal, believe me! The demand is there...

Theres been a ton posted on this. It seems every meal offered is Minnie, Chip and Dale, Pluto, Goofy, Mickey, or Donald. Not that theres anything wrong with keeping the core characters there, but they do need to diversify. Other than the princess breakfasts, they don't give any other character choices.

In one of the previous threads on this topic, a CM that happens to work as a character said there would not be a character meal with Buzz or Woody due to the bulkiness/awkwardness of the costumes. Yoiu can beleive what you want but the source is reliable.

It would make sence that the Buzz costume would be bulky, but it would still be nice to see some other characters offered. It seems that when we ate at the Crystal Palace a few years ago that there was enough room for bulkier characters to be moved around, but as I think about it other than the Garden Grill the other restaurants we ate at were not big enough for bulky characters.

I also wish there were more Buzz and Woody sightings. Character meal or not.

I just wish there was another character meal offered for boys - like the pirates or something. My boys won't even go near the princesses. :(

Could anything be bulkier then Pooh, Tigger or Eyeore. Years ago at Soundstage Studios there was a character meal with Genie now thats bulky.

I cannot by the bulky excuse.

I think they could at least do a dinner show with a meet and greet before and after.

I am cracking up thinking about the bulky Genie navigating the tables, spilling water and knocking over toddlers.

Why don't you guys email Disney?! Believe it or not they do like the feedback!! :)

Don't bother with e-mailing. I tried it and got an official e-mail back saying my e-mail had been destroyed because they don't accept ideas from non-employees. They said the letter I wrote no longer existed. You can ask the dining line to voice your opinion though. They will let a manager know.

Wow! Interesting Samantha! I've never had that type of response!!! I wonder if it depends on the email address you use?

:( I received the same e-mail answer a while back when I made a suggestion regarding the disney stations on tvs at the resorts. I think they do not want anybody claiming an idea was theirs, and then suing disney.:(

Nikole-- I got the same snotty e-mail from some paralegal saying my e-mail was destroyed, that they don't accept ideas from outside sources. I used the e-mail address on the disneyworld website, which if the legal team cares to read the fine print, says something to the effect of all submissions become the property of Disney.

Frankly, I could care less about claiming an idea was mine. I want my son to have just as memorable character meal experience as my daughter. Disney is dropping the ball here and they won't even listen.

Many's the time I suggested that we don't even have to have Buzz and Woody (although I am sure that would be a big hit if it could work), but why not have just a Heroes meal. That can cover all the male characters they care to like...

Hercules
Tarzan
Peter Pan
The kid from Treasure Planet
The guy from Atlantis
Kuzco and Pacha from Emporer's New Groove
The captain from Hunchback of Notre Dame
Aladdin

I mean you can really make the boys just as happy by doing something like this and rotating the characters through if necessary.

Sometimes I think the common sense solution or the easy solution evades the people who plan these things becasue they think it needs to be a big production to get to the solution. It's not. Use the simple solution and make the boys and older kids (read: my husband) happy to go to character meals too.

This is probably the question of the CENTURY!~ No one knows exactly WHY there isn't a Toy Story meal, or at least a meal where they would be accomodated.

I have however, heard a rumor that when Diamond Horseshoe Review reopens, it may feature the Woody and Jessie characters. This is only a rumor, though!

There had also been talk of a Toy Story meal being opened in Epcot at one time, too... last year... but we haven't heard anymore about that.

As for the paralegals letter... no, Disney doesn't accept ideas from outside.. which would open them up to lawsuits galore. Perhaps because so many people have written with these ideas, they are concerned that those people would try to collect money for them if they were used. Can't say I blame them, what with the lawsuit about Epcot, and the rights to Pooh going on at this time.

Just be patient, sit back and wait. They did finally do something about the over popular Cindy breakfast to appease the masses, so perhaps the Toy Story characters are next on the drawing board!

From what I've herad, becuase the Toy Story characters are PIXAR characters, both Disney and PIXAR must both agree about how the characters are used and, appeaently, PIXAR is not sold on the idea of a character meal. My guess is that the costumes for the characters are expensive and PIXAR probably wouldn't want to pay for more cotumes for a meal where they would get heavy usage. I could be wrong, but that's what I think.

Not Toy Story, But..... While at the Disney Store this weekend, they have come up with a whole new marketing campaign for boys. It is something they are calling the Adventurers. It is a whole line of T-Shirts, Jackets, Pant Outfits and even Action Figures with Aladdin, Tarzan, Peter Pan, Hercules and Capt. Hook. My son went nuts when he saw all this stuff. I have seen all these characters around the parks walking freely with the exception of Tarzan. I am hoping maybe they will use this marketing strategy and create a character meal for boys called the Adventurers Meal.
