Why is your favorite resort your favorite resort?

People like their DVC resorts for various reasons. I was just wondering what is at the top of the list of why you choose a certain resort as your favorite.

If you can, please explain your vote (be more specific). Here are definitions of what I mean by each category.

1) Location = close to theme parks/DTD, Restaurants, Quiet and Relaxed area, Area with a lot of action, etc.
2) Room = décor/views/size
3) Resort = theme/décor in Lobby, etc.
4) Resort type = hotel/multiple building
5) Resort Amenities = pool, golf, game rooms, beach, exercise rooms, planned activities, etc.
6) Transportation = ease of access to resort or room, bus, monorail, boat, etc.
7) Point costs = amount of points/night or maintenance fees.
8) Other = anything I have not thought of that makes you like a certain resort better than others.


I know it will be difficult for us to chose just one, and it will probably be a combination of all of them that help us decide our favorite. But try to choose the "one" factor that is most important to you.

My pick is SSR. Second would be OKW. Reason: I like to come back to a more peaceful quiet environment after a day at the parks. My vote goes towards "location."

My pick is BWV for location. I love being able to walk to Epcot - especially during F&W.

My vote went to location...SSR, we love the easy access to DTD and the peacefulness of the resort. I think once we stay at AKV next year it will become my second place resort (savanna view).

My vote went to resort type. I like "condo" style resorts, and the sense of calming peace that they offer.

I will honestly say, though, I've never met a DVC resort that I didn't like!

My favorite is VWL. I picked it because of "resort" specifically the theme of the resort. It is so soothing, peaceful and gorgeous. Every time I step in the lobby I get that "life is sooo good right now" feeling.

For me, it's a combination of factors such as location, resort theme/decor, and resort type (I prefer those attached to a deluxe resort).

Mine would be for the themeing. I fell in love with the WL when I first stayed there in 1994 and I have never had that feeling with any of the other DVC resorts.

My favorite is VWL and since I could only vote for one reason, I did pick, "resort." For me, it's even more than that, it's the location, the boat transportation to the MK and other areas. It's the decor of the rooms, the pine cones, the colors, the pictures, the tile in the bathroom. The spring pool, its little springs, its location which is so convenient to the villa rooms. I love to go to the beach at night to see the electrical parade, to see fireworks. I love the trail to FW.

We own at 5 resorts, 4 on site, and if all of my points were at VWL, if it were the only place on site that I could ever stay, it would be fine with me. I have no single second choice among our resorts, the rest (BWV, BCV, AKV, VB) are all tied for second.

I picked "resort" also since that is the closest answer that would emphasize the theming. As Eliza, tgropp and Bobbi have eloquently stated, VWL provides a transformational experience within the WDW boundaries.

We really enjoy our BWV contract as well for the resort amenities and location, but WL/VWL provides an emotional response for my family that we only feel there.

We chose AKV for the Savanah, you just can'y get that anywhere else. We also loved how luxurious it felt.

Our next buy will be BCV for the proximity to our favorite park, Epcot and for the classic theming.

We are also hoping someday for a Grand Floridian DVC

Well, I will follow suit with my fellow VWL Groupies and say that I also chose 'resort'.
See above posts for all my reasons.

Oops, forgot to add that location is a close second. I love being the the MK resort area.
I feel closer to Walt there.

AKV - The dark warm decor is very relaxing and romantic, add in the only resort with a live animal savannah in Disney's collection, two of best restaurants on property, some of the largest rooms, and yeah, that pretty much did it for us.

I guess the VWL lovers are unanimous!! I picked “resort” – you just can’t beat it’s FEEL!

Love AKV. Can't beat the theming and the unique resort experience. Plus the proximaty to the Animal Kingdom can't be beat.

Love OKW, beat the pavement at the parks by day, enjoy tropical, Key West setting away from the hustle and bustle by night. Love the boat to DTD!

BCV is our favorite "resort". We love the decor, feel, ammenities etc. Since we are a big "beach family" it fits our personality perfectly. The location just happens to be a huge plus as well

I voted resort "type" but I should have voted other.

My favorite resort is WL/WLV. I can't pick one thing. I LOVE EVERYTHING
IMO the location is great....I love the theming, rooms, restaurants.....EVERYTHING.
You should add an option of....Everything about it

Second choice for me is BWV.....but I really don't like the lack of CS options....and while I do love it....I "need" the WL for the peace

We love BCV for the location and the SALB pool! The resort is also great.
