Yes, that would probably be a good first place to look for it ... however, a prescription was never called in, so maybe not ...

We know the doctor had it on Tuesday, but don't know where it is now, so we can't call in the prescription until we find the chart. We'll call you back as soon as we find it." ...

So I wait ... popcorn:: ...

Maybe you could drop in at the Dr's office (you were just in the area dontcha know?...) and see how they're doing. Maybe make an appt with the dr. to discuss your care and to tell him/her how pleased you are with the practice.

And now you know why I insist on a paper perscription that I take to the pharmacist myself. If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.
 
Ugh, sorry OP! What a pain. We have problems with prescriptions all the time, but it's always Safeway's fault. We need to stop using their pharmacy...it sucks.

Oh, I hear ya ... and I usually do always get a paper prescription .. however, in this particular case, I was just following my doctor's directive ... at my last appointment a few weeks ago with him, he gave me a new prescription and told me if I had any issues or problems with it, just give him a call and he would make any changes with it over the telephone ... well, that's exactly what I did, and the rest is now history ... as I sit here still waiting ... :)

Delightful! Sounds more like an honest mistake than incompetence.
 
I just wanted to give props for the title - WHY is there so much incompetence anymore? I cant quite make sense of it, but I like the way the words are strung together.


I'm glad I'm not the only one who's having issues understanding the title (not quite sure how the "anymore" fits, but interesting none the less). :thumbsup2

Best I can figure, we all presumed or expected a world with no incompetence by the year 2010; since there is still incompetence, the "anymore" would be somewhat appropriate?

I don't think its all about incompetence. I think it has lots to do with the fact that most companies are making people do the work of two people or more. So when folks are overworked, even smart competent people who mean well will start to make mistakes, forget because they have too much on their plates, not work as hard because it doesn't matter anyway, drop the ball with following up, handle the squeaky wheel requests first, but mostly I think the quality of all services goes down when people are overworked.

Same here. We have to get our long-term prescriptions from Medco (3 months at a time). I have a new prescription. I ordered it on Medco's website and they contact the doctor's office for approval. I received an e-mail that they requested approval and it has been 48 hours and they haven't heard back. I called the doctor's office and they said they faxed it back to Medco 2 days ago. So who is at fault? Doctor's office or Medco. At least I got an e-mail from Medco that they received it.

:) I recently got to deal with getting hubby's two prescriptions moved over from 30 day at Walgreens to 90 days at drugstore.com. Found that d'store isn't doing their own pharmacy now. Took nearly 3 weeks to get it worked out, with multiple calls between insurance and pharmacy people, because every time the pharmacy tried to approve it, insurance said "oh no, he still has pills". Now Aetna WANTS us to go to the 90 plan. But their systems REFUSE to do it unless you're just starting out, because it takes about 3 weeks to get the first 90 prescriptoin going, and of course at that point the 30 day bottle was just filled a week ago. Too soon. So I sold my firstborn (practically) to get Aetna's word for an "override", which would last for two whole days...the pharmacy tried it on the third day. Called again, got a FIVE day override. That, finally, worked, after almost 3 weeks of dealing with the nonsense. Thankfully two pharmacy people had taken pity on me...one of them bumped us up to overnight shipping for FREE, and the last one must have walked it over to the people who were calling into Aetna and got it DONE. I got the shipping confirmation email from drugstore a WEEK after we got the package. I got the reply to my "the endo faxed the info in today, this is the order I made last night, order number, 90 day prescriptions, one pill a week for this, one pill a day for that, let me know ifyou need more info!" email...19 days after I sent it.:headache:

It's going to be very interesting at refill time, b/c we'll be in Orlando then.

Using "anymore" in that way is, in my experience of listening/reading "dialects", a regional (though I'm not sure what region) use of the word. Means something similar to "nowadays".
