There's a place in the World Showcase where you can get a picture of Tink cupped in your hand (I think it's Italy). My friend's daughter loves Tink, and a photopass photographer asked her if she wanted a picture with her. She then asked her to cup her hands and look down, then she took a picture. She added Tink in, and when they saw the photopass pictures Baillie was holding Tink in her hands. I know this is not as good as actually meeting Tink or getting her autograph, but the picture is really cute!
I heard somewhere that the reason that Tinkerbell wasn't out as a meet and greet character was because she is never supposed to touch the ground at the MK.
Hook is not a Disney movie, it was produced by Amblin Entertainment and TriStar Pictures. But in Hook, Tink was not a human, she was still a pixie. She remained tiny and only got big one time to fulfill her wish of kissing Peter Pan.
When we went in August, the CM told me that Tinker Bell is starting to make actual appearances at Disneyland but there was no scheduled meet and greets at WDW in the near future. I bet once the movie comes out that will change thing. Instead of "shrinking" the guests to meet Tink I would think the guests would walk through the door and be able to understand "jingling" therefore Tink could talk to us.
I always thought she didn't appear walking around because...well...Tink doesn't really walk. She flys or flits around....and I personally think it would be strange to see her strolling down the street. Seeing her perched up high on the parade float is a bit of a stretch....I always wait hoping she'll fly around the float, lol.
Maybe they could find a way to make her a fixed character, like they do with Ariel in her fins.....Ariel (in Disneyland at least) appears as her shell rotates and she's on it....then she stays seated for autographs and talks. I know in WDW she walks around in her other outfit, but we never saw that in DL.
Maybe they could put Tink up high in a perched position and have guests climb a few steps or go up a ramp to her? Not sure that wouldn't still ruin the image of her being in almost constant motion and above ground.
I would imagine that if these Fairies movies ever do get released that not only Tink but the other Fairies are going to be in even higher demand. Of course, Tink has been marketed heavy in the last several years....probably because they knew the books and movie were in the works. Before that I don't recall even 1/10 of the merchandise available with Tink.
By the way....if you're a Tink fan be sure to read the books that the movie is supposed to be based on....and there is a website for the books/movie that is somewhat interactive. I will admit that I was a bit disappointed with the books, but my daughters enjoyed them. They're just Princess fans and the books didn't really change them over or even make their interest in Tink go any higher. I think Tink deserved a better storyline, but hopefully the movie will be a bit more lively and exciting. Maybe that's why it's been delayed another year.
I am hoping the whole darn Pixie Hollow set is out after the movie. My girls love Tink but they love Prilla nd Rani just as much now. It is a shame the movie did not come out last year. My girls have been big fans since Disney first introduced them. They will probably be out of the "fairie" stage by the time the movie comes out.
Oh well. We plan on visiting Tink in her drawer and seeing her fly from the castle. I am also making little bottles of pixie dust that Tink will "leave" on the dresser when we are at Disney. My husband joked that our girls would sprinkle themselves with it and jump out the window! LOL I guess I will have to come up with a letter from Tink explaining why they should never open the bottles!!
If Disney has a hit with CRT, imagine a meal with the entire Pixie set? Wow, they could charge another arm and leg for that experience!!
You get tink's autograph if you do the family magic tour at mk. It is on the back of the certificate. Something special.
We got tink put in a picture at mk when we went just ask the photographer.
We also woke up at tink at tinkerbell's treasures in mk.
All magic stuff with tink. My daughter loves her and her bedroom is all decorated tink style. We also got tink ears to add to the room.
