Why is there no DTD West Side drop-off on the POFQ/POR boat service?

Hello!

Can anyone tell me when and why they stopped using the DTD West Side boat drop-off? On the three trips we took from POFQ, one time the boat drive noted that he had a few extra minutes and would be making a "one-time only stop, they don't do this anymore" at the DTD WS boat dock.

See, I understand Disney not using the DTD West Side BUS stops because they are totally in the middle of nowhere parking lot. On the other hand, the boat dock is right near many POPULAR aspects of Downtown Disney.

It's not some major tragedy, but still something that would be great to have. Taking the bus can feel like forever with all the stops at POFQ/POR then the the two at DTD... anyone agree?

When we were there in April, the buses were no longer going to the Westside either. Just Marketplace & PI. I don't know why they discontinued the WS stops.

The PO boat hasn't stopped at the West Side dock in many many many years. There is a separate boat that goes between the Marketplace and West Side dock. I believe it is just efficiency not having both the PO and the OKW boat stop at the West Side.

The boat does make stops at The Westside after 4:30 in the afternoon. I don't think there are enough people wanting to go there during the day to make it worthwhile for them to stop earlier.

The bus didn't stop there after 4:30 anymore. I hope the boat does when we are at FQ in a couple weeks.

I don't believe the bus ever stops there. PI is the closest bus stop. I think the bus stop for The West Side was to isolated. I can remember standing there and feeling pretty insecure late at night.
