Why is the Universal Website so difficult to search and make plans?

I think I am just so familiar with Disneys Online design for trip planning …
But finding Annual Pass rates for hotel discount…
Is it just me ? It takes forever and it seems to be glitchy and wants to take you where it wants to take you almost. I don’t want a 3 or 5 day hotel package!
But Uni wants me to want it! Apparently .

There really is no benefit to booking a package. It's often cheaper booking room and tickets separately and cancellation policy is better that way as well. There is a section for AP benefits on the website. Maybe try googling Uni AP rate benefits and see if it takes you right there. The app is better if you want park hours, show times, etc. As far as planning, its waaaaaaay easier than Disney as in there is not much to plan except look at park maps and restaurants and decide what your must do's are.

You really don’t need the Universal website at all.

Down load the app for ride wait times and park info. I love having the app and being able to check in on ride times in the days leading up to our visit.

You can reserve your hotel directly from the Loews website (instead of going straight to the Universal site). Remember the hotels are not run by Universal anyway.

We purchase our AP’s right in the hotel lobby when needed.

We have never found a package to be worth it for us as we need the flexibility of a room only cancellation policy.

Since you mentioned that you were used to trip planing for WDW, this might be an important difference to be aware of. There are very few table service places that require advance reservations, and most of those are in CityWalk and you could make them a month in advance by phone or on the website and be fine.

What kind of daily schedule are you looking for?
