Why is the Disneyland Railroad Closing?

I wish they would make the train changes quickly so it could reopen sooner. And just block out the view of the construction. But even if they could do that, I am guessing they don't want to deal with that. But I do hope it reopens before Star Wars land is 100% complete.

Reading this thread reminded me of something I haven't heard about yet which is Mickey's Magical Map. Are they shutting this down as well? I thought I heard that they were.

I also hope the train comes back asap. I read maybe up-thread or in another related thread someone had said they wished DL could figure out a way to run some of the train. I do need to take care with all the walking and the train is so handy that way. I will miss that aspect the most. I am not into Star Wars at all but am happy for those of you who are I will say it will be interesting to see how the train is added to/changed. I have thought for a while there could be a little more to it, and now there will be. I wonder if there'd be a way to have some sort of tram maybe make the circuit or some of it where the train once did, just to still offer that transportation option. I do know this is very far fetched, just wishful thinking

I think this is exactly what we needed to see from Disney right now. With so many things closed now for the SWL overhaul, we needed some reassurance that it's still going to be amazing! I have no doubt whatsoever that we are going to be blown away when the final product is revealed. I can't wait!!

Looks very nice. It also looks like they're trying to make a lot of white noise to drown out what's going on in SWL. That makes me wonder even more what will be on the other side!

Mouseplanet is reporting today that trains will be parked at Main St and NOS stations with engineers on hand to answer questions.

Well, those pics from 2010 is exactly what I hope it doesn't look like even if the walls are 'themed'. But the article that says they may dam up some of the river makes me hope it won't look like that. Time will tell!
