Why is the chicken head look so popular?

Aras from Survivor is the most famous example I could think of...

I see so many young guys doing their hair this way. It isn't a mohawk and the only thing it looks like to me is a chicken. Do women think that looks good?

I think it makes Aras look dumb and vain. During a challange his hair is all over the place then frame to after, it's sticking up! Makes the reality thing, less and less reality....

That's exactly what inspired this thread. One minute his hair is all naturally messed up due to whatever he was doing and the next he's got his chicken head back.

Fauxhawk doesn't do it justice. It's chicken head. Maybe if they hear how much they look like a chicken they will stop this terrible look.

I like the fauxhawk on young guys. It adds "edge" without doing something too drastic... real mohawks are a little too edgy for me.

The first time I saw one, I thought of the Gerber baby. Isn't that what people do with their infant daughters before they have enough hair for barrettes? Now I see this look on all guys (teens to 20's). I don't like it.

2nd, I see your mullet and raise you a rat tail. When I met Dh he was over 40 and was wearing a combo of the two Within 2 weeks he was looking like a normal human again with a little not so gentle nudging from me.
