Why is T-Rex so hard to get?

Is it always such a hard one to snag? I don't remember having issues in the past.

I didn't book at 180 because the kids hadn't mentioned it. But we are celebrating my son's seventh birthday on our trip and he has now asked to go to T-Rex. I've been checking every day and would take pretty much any time slot on the day we will head to DTD but there have been zero openings. I've tried changing the number in our party (thinking that it's his birthday so if nothing else, he and one parent could go) and no luck. We are still four months out so I guess I'm just shocked that I can't get a single opening at all. This isn't exactly Cinderella's Castle!

They only release a small amount of their tables to Disney. But, you can call T-rex directly & get your reservation without a problem. =0)

I tried to get reservations on line as well with no luck. Then, a friend told me to call them directly so I did and got exactly what I wanted! The number is 407-828-8739.

We called direct for our last trip and got a reservation for the exact time we wanted. I was nervous about it since it wasn't through the Disney reservations. When we checked in they had our information and everything worked perfectly!

Yep, I called directly because they had nothing for a party of 9 at 180. Since then I've switched multiple times with no issues!

Like other's here, I called T-Rex directly and got a dinner reservation for 13 people @ 7:00pm. We were told that we may not all sit together but they would do all they could to accommodate for a party that size. They had times every 15 minutes starting from 5:00 on. I had my pick of any time I wanted. In case anyone else wants to know, I did the same for Tuto Italia in Epcot and I was able to get a reservation for 13 at 4:30 for dinner - all sitting at the same table. Sometimes it better to call the restaurant directly.

Something I noticed: Even if you call T-Rex directly and can't get what you want, remember that people who make reservations with T-Rex directly do not have to give a credit card guarantee (so no $10 per person no show fee). Perhaps you'll get in if many people don't show & don't bother to cancel...

If you have other Landry's restaurants where you live, you can get there Select Card . It's $25 to start, but they give you a $25 credit that you can use at their restaurants. The card guarantees you the next available table when you walk up...no waiting. You also earn a $25 credit for every $200 you spend, and get a $25 credit each year during your birthday month. We used our card at T-Rex last October. There was a 60 minute wait, but with our card it was about 5 minutes.

T-Rex is also an easy one to walk up to. We had no problems on Mother's Day last year while DTD was packed.

I was about to say this! Best $25 I ever spent. It is also good at any Rainforest Cafe, Claim Jumper restaurant and a bunch of other great places all over the US. Since I've had the card, I've yet to wait more than 5 minutes in Vegas, Orlando, and Nashville. I've gotten $50 in Birthday rewards (with another $25 coming on my next trip to WDW in October, plus $50 in rewards from eating at restaurants and earning points.
