why is summer value season?

Why is summer value season if that is a busy time? I'm confused for some reason..

I think it's only value season for the Deluxe Resorts. I believe the Value and Moderate Resorts are Regular Season. But, I don't know why. Maybe because most families cannot afford the higher priced resorts.

With the deluxes, value season begins right after July 4th. The reason seems to be that it is so ungodly hot and humid in July and August. Nothing like the heat and humidity we have in the midwest. I don't know why the value resorts are different. Maybe those of us who stay deluxe are just pansies when it comes to the heat.

Schools in Florida start back in early Aug...maybe that is some small reason.

During the summer many chose not to visit Disney due to the heat. Most that do stay in the value or moderate resorts or off property. The busiest times of the year for the Deluxe resorts are in the Fall, December and Spring.

Fl resident passes are blacked out during the summer (June 11 until Aug 18th I think). I can't get my DH to go over the summer because of the heat - unless it's to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon!

I've wondered this myself. The UG shows park attendance at its highest point other than holidays throughout July and Aug. I guess this is more due to locals and families with school age children who mostly choose to spend less than deluxe rates?
