Why is she lying, when its so obvious?

My DS9 is going through something similar, however, after he tells me this compelling fact, he asks me if it's correct! I tell him the "real" truth.
My 23 year old brother still does this. We call them "BJ facts". :rotfl:

My 12 yr DD ordered "17 Magazine" and used my debit cad to pay for it. Then had the nerve to tell me that she didn't do it. She still hasn't come clean and until she does she is grounded, and grounded even longer when she does come clean! LOL ;) Out of my 4 daughters she is the one that is going to kill me first!

hmmm...could she possibly do extra house/yard work to compensate you for that additional $100 on the cell phone bill? your post is a prime example of why my DD7 will probably never get her own cell phone, lol.

My best friend's daughter ran up a $970.00 cell phone bill. She worked all summer to pay it off.

Let's just say that she will be helping out around the house a bit more than normal ;) . It wasn't my idea that she get a cell phone. She has been bugging for one for several years now. The other sibs, ages 18 and 21 have had cell's for many years now. My DH, her stepdad, offered to put her on our plan. I agreed, with restrictions to text msg(100 per month) and not using up alot of minutes. It actually will be nice for when she has away sporting events. We will know when to go pick her up from school. She just went "alittle" overboard. Taking it from her for about a month should do the trick. Also, no more text msg, at all. I may give it back after many months, but believe me, I will be keeping a close eye on the amount of messages!!!!

my one son ran up a $100. over the regular bill cell bill his first month too. All text messages. He didn't come close to using his talking minutes. During this time he also missed some important email communications. Once he got the cell he never im'ed or emailed any more. Everything was text messages. He paid the bill himself. The next month he monitored his usage.
The other son rang up $50. in ring tones his first month. This is something they all do the first month.

There have been times when I have argued with my dd -also 9:

"I saw you do that."

"No I didn't"

"Yes you did, I was standing right here and I saw you."

"No, I really didn't."

Apparently falling off the turnip truck has caused me to have hallucinations.

I am relieved to hear others talk about their kids lying This has really bothered me with my DS9.Lately he will say anything to try to get out of trouble. And he's really bad at it.

I have two students right now who will do something right smack dab in front of me and then say they didn't. My favorite phrase is "I'm 37 and you're 7. I've lived 30 years longer than you and I'm not an idiot." They are always appropriately shocked at my age...........37 sounds soooo old to them!

Parents don't mind you talk like this to there 7 yr olds, I would not want my child picking up the work "idiot" and we all know how fast kids pick up words! Not Flaming just asking! I would not go for my 7 yr olds teacher speaking like this, but thats just My opinion.

My 5yo is the youngest of 4 children and the older kids are all teens or preteens. He knows a lot of words that he shouldn't know, at his tender age. So if his teacher were to say that she was not an idiot I can't say that I'd be phased at all. If she called the kids idiots, that would be a different matter.

I have 5 kids well 6 if you count the one that is named "not me", "I dunno", wasn't me", or "I didn't do it" sometimes all in 1 sentence! I don't even know what that one looks like, lol! :goodvibes
One year for Christmas I wrapped a Nintendo 64 with a ton of games, and had Santa leave it for "Wasn't Me". :goodvibes

"Wasn't Me".... Too funny!!! :rotfl:

Just a thought here... You know how parents always admonish each other to 'Pick Your Battles....' It sounds like there might some needless, little, battles going on! When kids are micro-managed, and feel that they have somebody looking over their shoulder, and they know that EVERY little thing might be a big deal... Heck, I think I would be tempted to lie too!!!
