DD9 is testing me to no end the last couple of days.

Tonights saga started at shower time. Remember she started shaving her legs 2 weeks ago. She still can not do it all herself, and we have been starting in the tub, then she takes a shower. She shaved Thursday night.

Tonight, she gets in the shower- asks if she can shave, I reply with a not tonight Goo you just did Thursday, wait till tomorrow. She says okay

I hear a clunk ask her what it was

"oh your razor fell off the wall" huh, funny that razor hangs on the far side of the shower wall, no way did it fall.

I walk in, she hands me the 2 pieces (intuition) and I again say- it fell huh? Yup she says

She gets outta the shower, dries off and I say- so that razor fell? She says yeah and the top fell off.

I ask her if she's sure it fell by itself, and that she didnt drop it.

Well, sort of

I ask her again, if she realizes that she can not tell a lie to me and get away with it....yes mom I know

So then I ask- then why did you lie to me about the razor?

I dont know mom.

She walks out of the bathroom

the floor is soaked. I ask her to go wipe up the floor, and remind her that we have a mat to stand on when she dries off.

"well I dont know how that floor got wet, but it wasnt me"

I turn around and look at her, say- Goo, come on your kidding me.

Well mom, I stood on the mat, who knows maybe someone spilled water

WTH does she think I'm an idiot?

WHY on earth is she doing this....tell me its a 9 year olds way of acting please!

Right now she's in her room trying to figure out who spilled the water, how they got into the bathroom when she was in there, and how she didnt notice it. I reminded her...that I was in the kitchen cooking supper, and her sister was in the living room watching TV so that left her and the 2 cats

;) They're pretty sure they have it all down, don't they? ;)

Of course, my DD is older, but it reminds me of when I found the empty mini-liquor bottles in her purse. I ask her what's the deal - she says "Mom, I have NO idea how they got there". :confused3

Mom did NOT just fall off the turnip truck today - "Be straight with me, empty liquor bottles do NOT just beam themselves into YOUR purse". "No Mom, I SWEAR I don't know".

I did one of these -

And SUDDENLY, like MAGIC - she remembered that she DRANK them. ;)

Kids - they really think they've got it all over us, don't they? :teeth:

:rotfl: i am laughing WITH you not at you!!! LOL

i would love to tell you that this is normal but i have a special needs kid. so i have no idea what normal looks like. but i can tell you that "i didn't do it!" is a permanent resident in my house. no ever does it.

as for your daughter...i think it was the cats! they tag teamed their water bowl into the bathroom and dumped it on the floor. while doing that one of them pulled the razor off the shower wall.

I feel your pain. When DD14was 12 she had mascara on her eyes and denied it. I could it on her eyes and she looked at herself in the mirror and told me she had no idea what it was. I guess there are plenty of turnip trucks for us all to have fallen off of! :rotfl:

A better question is, why didn't she just pop the top to the razor back on? ;)

I still never do it, ever!

There was one time though, I was in the tub and dad kept banging on the door saying I was spilling water over the side and it was leaking down into the kitchen. I said, "It's not me! There's not that much water in here!" He did this a couple more times, and I said "It's probably that hole in the tub that you think isn't there/wont have fixed!" He made me get out to prove that it would stop leaking into the kitchen, well, wouldn't you know that it didn't stop/was leaking from the same spot in the kitchen where the whole was above in the tub. The repairman was there the next week, and I really didn't do anything :teeth:

Oh how funny. This sounds so familiar. My DD is 10 and she is always pulling this sort of stuff! I think it must just be the age and (hopefully) they'll outgrow it. There are some days where I swear I'm gonna lose my mind but then I remind myself the things I'm going through w/DD aren't too bad considering what I've heard others tell me about with their older girls. Can't wait for that! ;)

My DS9 is going through something similar, however, after he tells me this compelling fact, he asks me if it's correct! I tell him the "real" truth.

It's their way of learning, wanting to grow up, and showing that they want to be treated with respect because they have knowledge.

Didn't we all do this as teens or preteens!!! I know I did, and I am definitly not looking forward to this stage with my DD's! Hang in there!

I have 5 kids well 6 if you count the one that is named "not me", "I dunno", wasn't me", or "I didn't do it" sometimes all in 1 sentence! I don't even know what that one looks like, lol! :goodvibes

Mom to a 10 year old here. I roll my eyes when the ocassional fib to avoid consequences comes up. I told my son the other day that wanting it to be true was not the same as it "being true." He insisted. I had to say, "honey, it's a lie, I understand why but it's a lie. Come and talk to me when you are ready to tell the truth. Head to your room." He showed up about 10 minutes later with an apology saying he didn't know why he lied, that he was scared.
Yeah, I get that part. No TV tonight. We had a great night and when he went to bed, he apologized again and said he loved me. I love him too. This will pass and possibly other worse things will replace it. :earseek:

I didn't know anyone else named their kids "not me", "I dunno", wasn't me", or "I didn't do it" too :earboy2:

Hey, you want my DD14??? Just got the cell phone bill, family plan, and she was over in her text msgs by 775. She is allowed 100 a month on the plan. How in the #@ll do you send/recieve 875 msgs in ONE month? She is new to having a cell phone. I only agreed to get her one because it will come in handy when after school sports begins. She knew the limit, and knew how to check how many she used. Needless to say, the cell has been taken away until I deem it OK to give it back. She needs to learn a lesson. And I had Verizon stop all text msg to and from her phone. I don't know if she will ever get that back.

Teenagers..........

$86 plus all those surcharges.....so about $100. I would make her pay them back, but she doesn't have a job. Besides, taking it away from her will absolutely kill her. Oh well, hard lesson learned, both hers and mine!!! She did well on the minutes of talk time, only 156. But then, how much could you talk when your fingers are busy typing in text msgs!!!! ;)
