Why is POP Booked Solid Next Week?

I am growing a bit concerned with crowd levels for next week. Just for kicks, I went to the official website to try to reserve a room for POP next week and there are NO rooms available (April 30-May 6). The only "value" room that was available was at AS Sports. I know there is some type of marathon next week. Could this be the reason for the crowds? Pop Century is a HUGE resort....I can't believe every single room could be sold out.

not sure what it is but there's always something going on. There aren't really any "Slow" times like there used to be. Use fastpass and get there early and you will be fine

I wouldn't worry about it. We go in the "slow" times - late Oct, early Nov, early Dec, early Jan and almost every trip, as we approach the time to leave, someone reports that all of the resorts are full. We've never had a big problem with crowds. I don't think onsite resort availibility is the best predictor of crowds

I may be mistaken, but aren't the cheerleading comps over by tomorrow?

You could always call and ask? We've found that the room availability on the phone and on the website do not always line up. Sometimes there are rooms available online but not over the phone (as we found out when booking for this May), and sometimes there is nothing on the website but rooms open when we call (as happened when booking our Feb trip). We always like to check both to cover our bases. No idea why next week would be busy though!

the reason for POP being booked alot is because pop century is the newest value resort so everyone wants to try it out. The same thing happend to us we tried to book a room at POP in August of 2007 when the dinning plan was going on and same thing no rooms so we tried AS value resort and we got a room so chances are there will be rooms at the AS resorts.
