Why is Pete's Dragon merchandise so rare to find?

In Disney collectibles I have noticed that out of all the classic movie merchandise merchandise of Pete's Dragon is very scarce to find? Is it because not many people know little about Pete's Dragon or is it one film that they couldn't do enough merchandise of? Because when you try to search for anything Pete's Dragon they only have Elliott plushies and ornaments and you would've thought that with the remake of Pete's Dragon Pete's Dragon merchandise would be popular again. I think Disney did to Pete's Dragon the same thing they did to Strange World by having no merchandise of Pete's Dragon released when the film debuted in 1977
