Why is Peter Pan "always first"? (silly question?)

I've seen this several times on these Boards, but I can't figure out why.

Is it a reference to the movie?

Because the lines get very long very quickly and do not shorten up until late at night.

No, it's not a reference to the movie. The thing is that Peter Pan is one of the single most popular attractions at DLR. In order to ride with a line shorter than 25-30 min, you must get in line within the first 10 min of park opening. So the phrase is in reference to riding Peter Pan as your first ride of the day to avoid long lines later.

Is Peter Pan a fastpass ride in DL?

Thanks....as a WDW vet I would not have guessed that!

Peter Pan is a favorite so I guess I'll be hitting it early!

Yes, the line gets long quickly--and we've only visited in the "off-season" and still experienced this. We speed walk to Peter Pan, ditch the stroller immediately, ride Peter Pan, and by the time we're off the ride, the line is twenty+ minutes long...and it gets longer and longer from that point on. Crazy.

That is so funny, at WDW I have never seen a (very) long line at PP. Now Dumbo is another story - that is the one you have to run to first thing at WDW ;)

We enjoyed Peter Pan at WDW much more than at DL...not because of the lines, but because the ride actually seemed like it went slower through all the rooms in WDW. In Disneyland it felt like we were on fast forward...there was no time to look around and see any of the special little touches before you were in the next scene. So, we don't bother in DL....but I do miss it as it's a favorite movie. I guess because DL doesn't have the FP and it's such a long long line that they sped it up to make the line move a little faster. Seems like putting in a FP would have been a better choice than to spoil the ride experience. They could have the FP entrance where the disabled entrance (I think that's what it is) is located...the disabled could simply join in the FP line couldn't they?

ages ago on this board I said that the Dangermouse Family mantra when entering Disneyland is "Peter Pan First. Peter Pan ALWAYS first!" I think it stuck. ;)

At DL it's PP followed by Dumbo *walk with purpose and you'll be one of the 1st on PP and not have to wait long at all for Dumbo.

Im glad someone asked this question lol...Ive been wondering about this ride for awhile. I didnt even SEE this ride last July... My kids Ds14 and Dd12 are more "thrill riders" than Fantasyland rides :confused3

Nope, which is one of the reasons the line gets very long, very quickly.

As far as I know there are no FP rides in Fantasyland at DL so I try to do them all first thing in the morning.
Funny you say that because the explantion given a lot around here for why TSMM line is shorter at DLR than at WDW is because "WDW TSMM has FP and DCA does not". :confused3

Personally I think FP has very little to do with the length of the the line for either. :cool2:

Well sure if you're comparing standby time to standby time. However if you're comparing the wait time of a person getting in line at DL without the FP and the person getting in line at WDW with a FP, I'm thinking the person with the FP is going to have a shorter wait.

You missed my point. Does having FP capability make the standby line longer or shorter than it would otherwise be?

All I know is if I don't get to PP first thing in the morning at DL my wait is going to be longer than if I don't get there first thing at WDW; so it makes it "longer" for me.

I agree. FP has little to do with it. I think the real culprit is the differences in the parks themselves. In CA, there are a multitude of rides, but in HS there are far fewer. If I'm not mistaken, I think TSMM was the only ride my almost-3-yr-old could ride at HS last year...

So you are saying the standby line for PP at DL is longer than the FP line for PP at MK? Well, yah it is. Most standby lines are longer than FP lines.
