Just read an article dated today and it said men needed a jacket for dinner. I looked on DCL dress code and didn’t see that information. My DH has never worn a jacket with his dress pants/shirt at dinner. Anyone have insight on this.

From the DCL website:
for Palo:

Dress to Impress

Adult-exclusive restaurants aboard Disney Cruise Line ships are elegant dining experiences. Guests are requested to dress in a manner consistent with the restaurant’s sophistication. Formal or semi-formal attire is recommended. Also permitted is dress-casual attire with a polished look, such as dress pants, jeans in good condition, collared shirts, dressy tops and lifestyle shoes. For brunch at Palo, dress shorts are acceptable. Clothing such as T-shirts, swimwear and sports attire are not permitted.

For Palo Steakhouse:

Where did you see the article?

No jacket is required. You will see a few with them. I noticed on our sailing last month that a group had on spirit jerseys, which surprised me. It was also pirate night so perhaps they are not as strict with dress code? They did stand out.

Here on DISBOARDS under news and updates. I think it was DCL fan written by Jackie somebody.

I wish they would enforce the dress code. On the treasure at dinner there was a table of men in shorts, they stood out.

It was dated for today and is titled Palos secret soufflé and a deck side surprise.
Hmm... found it.

I'm thinking she forgot the article she posted a year ago, since the DCL website currently is verbatim what she posted then:

News to me as well... AFAIK they haven't required a jacket for a while now outside of Remy*. I wonder if her husband was otherwise dressed down? If he was wearing a collarless shirt or something else against the dress code I could see them suggesting a jacket, and since they did not have one, accommodating them outside. That's honestly the first time I have ever heard of them sitting people outside too... so maybe I'm the crazy one! My husband does not sail with a jacket ever since they lightened up on their dress code, and will not be this time either. They've been very loud about changes in the past, so I feel like we'd have heard if it changed and they were suddenly being strict and enforcing it.

FWIW, thinking of a Grand Marnier souffle as surprising in Royal Palace has me raising my eyebrows... that has been an option for years now and is on the regular menu. Source: me, I LOVE IT and get it every time I can! I've even gotten two once (I had a lighter dinner to make up for it).

*Edit: I no longer see it on Remy's page either.

I’d wear a jacket but I’m always hot. Why bother bringing a jacket if you’ll just take it off anyway. It’s going to the coat closet 🤣 So what would it matter. Makes sense they do not require.
