Why Is It

that because I am a woman .....that my husband must of been the one that did the deed with the hunting trip.....( to spare those who do not want to know) I am a wicked good shot.......I have been good at what I do for years.......My family and husband knows that I am a good shot and they are proud of me......so WHY CAN"T men just accept this.....makes me mad.oh well we will have 300 plus lbs of meat for us and our childrens families.....

I hear ya Pumba! A few years back I was field dressing a buck in our side yard. We had several people stop and admire the buck (he was a 15 pointer) and all of them assumed my DH had bagged him (and he certainly wasn't going to tell them any different!) - I set them straight

I have a good friend who is a woman and both she and her hubbie are hunters... she get's a deer more often than not.

I just think it's because it's really not the norm, and most people " assume " ... and we know what THAT does, don't we?

a 15 point is huge.......my biggest deer in Maine has been a ten point and 175.....big for me

Well ... look at it this way. If you were to walk into someone's home and you saw three beautifully embroidered wall hangings over the fireplace, would you ask, "Wow -- which one of you did those?" or would you assume that it was the woman who did them?

No one is saying you can't do what you do, it's just that gender roles take a while to shift.

And if your husband and family know how good you are and are proud of you, why do care about all the other guys? Bragging rights? You'll get those anyway, when you look at them and say, "Um, excuse me, but that's my buck."
