Whenever you're just weeks away from your vacation, everything seems to break or you get sick???
Last week and this I have been suffering from a sinus infection. Now ordinarily I will not go to the doctor's, right off the bat. But with WDW being just weeks away, I went immediately to the doctor and he put me on an antibiotic and decongestant. Okay, sinus infection is improving...
Now, my car's air conditioner was acting up. I took it into the dealer today and it's the condenser (did you hear $$$$$?). Then they tell me I'm over-due for a new timing chain!!! I said, go ahead, replace everything! I certainly don't want to be in a hot car on vacation and have the timing chain break!
So Tuffcookie is feeling better and car is better. Could somebody put a band aid on my VISA card????

I know! John-Cole has been sick and I'm hoping I don't get sick with what he has. Money isn't going exactly the way we hope and we had to dip a little into our Disney money, not much but still I don't like dipping into it at all.....

and mark my words....I swear! A hurricane will pop up sometimes right before we leave the 6th of September. I hope not but I just know it...it always does. We were there w/Floyd and we went throgh that tropical storm last September...actually drove through it. A Hurricane isn't stopping us from going but it would be nice to have good weather...LOL!

Hang in there it will all be worth it in the end.

I feel your pain! Two weeks ago I shut the van door and it wouldn't open! I had to take it in to be fixed and now I need to have my tires checked before we leave. Probably will need to have at least one replaced.

Hope you get to feeling better.

But you will forget all about it once you are with the mouse!

it could be worse, a freind of mine got a car this past winter, and notice a/c not working, she took it to dealer, he looked under the hood and told her she didnt have an a/c, lol she said she felt like an idiot

Once we were supposed to leave for the Virgin Island in a few days and the airline was grounded and went out of business. We had to rearrange our plans.

My oldest DS got the flu the day before we were to fly to WDW. The Doc said it was ok to go and he was fine in a few days.

This past Jan. my youngest DS ran 104 temp less than 24 hrs before going to New Hampshire to ski. He had strep throat. The Doc said he would be fine to ski in a few days and he was but I was sick the whole vacation (I'm the only one who doen't ski anyway).

So I know where you are coming from.

I was thinking almost the same thing this week! Its the second year in a row something major has happened before our trip and it really puts a damper on the excitement.

Last year we were scheduled to fly out of Boston on 9/24. Obviously, we all know what happened to put a major damper on our excitement. Then we went through the stages of do we cancel? Do we reschedule? Do we drive instead of fly? etc... In the end we drove, we were safe, and we had a wonderful time. We were so glad we went but it definitely wasnt the same as it would have been prior to 9/11.

This year we are scheduled to leave(driving) on 8/24. A month and a half ago, FIL was feeling a little off, but nothing major was wrong with him. In that short time he has been diagnosed with cancer(MIL has been too, but not as bad) and he also has signs of pneumonia. Hes currently in the hospital on oxygen, ivs, and hes practically bedridden. The other day the doctor said he wouldnt be surprised if he went in as soon as a month. So, now on top of worrying about FIL, of course the trip is in the back of our minds too. We dont want to disappoint our kids and cancel, plus we are going with members of my family so I dont want to cancel unless we absolutely have to(they cant reshedule due to school). Im so stressed over this now and again, its supposed to be a "vacation".
