the person in front of me just has to put their seat back?

Haha. That happened to me when I was 7 months pregnant and seated in the very last row. The stewardess saw how uncomfortable I was and upgraded my husband and I to first class. It was a great flight after that. :thumbsup2

Honestly, I think that is one of the most inconsiderate things someone can do on a plane.

I fly for work quite often. More so than the seat being put back, the stench of the perfume bothers me. Ugh.

When I fly, I always want to put my seat back; it's much more comfortable for me, but I know how squashed I am when someone does it to me, so I just sleep upright. That said, since the seats are meant to have that option, I might get bold one day and do it to be comfortable, and hope the passenger behind me gets mad at the airline for the scant room and not at me.:rolleyes1

I can't sit in the seats in their full upright position, I have to put my seat back some--but NOT all the way back-just back a little bit, like a couple inches. Sorry, it's either that or I throw up. :lmao:

Really? I agree it's not comfortable, but I don't mind it, and I lean my seat back too. LOL I'd better suit up.

I always get stuck between the 7 foot tall guy with the seat back (so not only do I have no room at all, but his balding, nasty head is in my face) and the 3 year old that will not stop kicking the seat and putting the tray up and down and up and down and kicking and tray up and down and up and down. And I always get stuck with the screaming kid in the row across from me and the loud, obnoxious group that laughs hysterically the ENTIRE flight is never far. If you see me on your flight, run screaming the opposite direction because it is NOT a flight you want to be on.

The seats recline---why in the world wouldn't you recline your seat if they are MADE to recline?? I dont care if the person in front of me reclines their seat, I recline mine and go to sleep.

I always put my seat back. It's a bit more comfortable that way. I've never noticed much of a difference when the person in front of me puts their seat back. It only goes back a few inches anyway.

That's me!!

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Planes are so crowded and there is little room as it is, reclining your seat all the way gives the person behind you even less space. I just think it's rude. Many people will disagree and that's fine. Reclining a little is fine and I do that on occasion as well.

I try my best to keep my 2 yr old from kicking the seat in front if her. I take her shoes off and give her books, toys etc to distract her. If you recline your seat though, don't think I am going to go nuts trying to keep her from disturbing you.....it will be nearly impossible with the amount of space she will have left ;)

Are all airline seats the same? I only fly Southwest and I've never noticed any difference when the person in front of me reclines their seat..:confused3

I hate it too. It makes me unable to use my tray table when they put their seat back. There's just no room. I never put my seat back, hurts my neck too much to try and see forwards rather than the ceiling! I usually write in my journal on flights. Used to sleep before I had the DS's, but now, I can't possibly sleep with them awake! I need to keep them in line! :rotfl:

Yep, that and I also seem to sit next to someone who has bad B.O.

Ugh, its either one or another or BOTH!

My boyfriend is 6'7". For this reason, he always tries to sit in the exit row or an aisle seat. He does his absolute best to be considerate of others and just barely reclines his seat. On our last flight, we heard a woman behind us say, "Oh, of COURSE I'm behind a tall guy." She just assumed he would lean his chair back into her lap, I guess. I promise, not all 7 foot tall guys are inconsiderate! ;)

Just offering another perspective. :goodvibes

Ever try to eat off that fold down tray whent he seat keeps being reclined and put back up?
If they recline back far enough that fold down tray is wayyy to close!

I recline back just a tad, I dont think I have ever gone more than 1/4 of the way.

Wow...you learn something new every day. This really bothers people?? :confused3

Sorry....I don't care who you are behind me...I'm reclining my seat and going to sleep!!

Same here!!! :thumbsup2

Book a seat in the row behind the emergency exit row. Those seat can't recline...problem solved.
