Why is everyone so upset?

WOW, FP+ is awesome. You're going to have no wait rides on Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion in early November. Lucky you.

Jason

I realize it's not a crowded time. I was at MK today and lines were short, really didn't even need FP+ this morning. I just wanted to point out that you can make changes if plans change. I actually changed my third FP+ for today twice on the fly when I saw short standbys. I was also able to pull a FP- for Little Mermaid using my AP.

Seriously, most will not want to commit to which day they will be at which park 60 days out. Of those that do and make reservations, a certain percentage will change their minds before visit. Of that group, certain percentage will forget to change FP+ before getting to park.

I'd venture to bet hat similar things were said about adrs, and look where we are at with them. Disney created a demand, and they were invested in making sure that people filled it (I.e. dining plan, free dining promos). I have no reason to think Disney won't do whatever they need to to get fp+s prebooked as much as they can, esp. if fp+ is supposed to help Id staffing needs as well.

1. DISers are a small number

2. Most of them are abandoning Disney ;)

In the beginning I think this will be true but as more guests experience it and if they become repeat customers I think this will change. Especially if they don't get to ride the ride they want. So the rides that are difficult to get a legacy fastpass for will be just as difficult to get a fastpass+ for. Not sure how long till it gets that way but it will. So a lot won't want to commit but will be forced to, unless they want to just stroll about the parks or wait in lines.

You can make changes NOW, during TRIAL, when the majority of park visitors don't even have access to FP+ yet.

Your current experience doesn't reflect the reality of future FP+.

I agree. It's rainbows and unicorns until everyone gets to do it.

But why do you think you won't be able to do that once fully rolled out assuming there is no more regular FP?

How do you know it doesn't reflect the future reality? You don't know how Disney is playing with the numbers.

I don't know that I won't, but I am *concerned* about it because of the reports of how difficult it was to change fps during busier times already combined with how quickly legacy fps were running out during the same busy time period.

Fp capacity is fixed. For rides that had no fp+ availability AND whose regular fps ran out within 30-60 mins of park opening during those busy times. I don't understand why it is somehow unreasonable to be concerned that availability to change on the fly might be an issue. I think the upcoming holiday season will be very telling on this point.

I just made changes for a trip in a about a week and I can say that the timeslots are slim pickings at this point.

Do we have any numbers on what percentage of park guests use ADRs? (I know it's 1 gazillion percent on this board, but overall?)

We do know that 2000 people a day log into Disneys dining reservation system and book up be our guest restaurant 180 days before traveling. That is 60,000 a month and 720,000 a year. There are other restaurants in wdw that get booked months in advance nearly everyday. So number is substantial.

We also know 10,000 a day know to get to DHS to grab a fastpass for TSMM before 11:30 am. That is 300,000 a month a 3.6 million a year. That is a lot of savvy users.

Once these fastpasses are available online to everyone, the number of fastpasses will only go up. The savvy 10,000 in addition to the rope who know about the system but refuse to get up and participate in the rush.

This is why there are so any vocal people saying that they welcome the change. They will finally be able to grab those fastpasses along with the determined 10000. Competition could be fierce. And it doesn't take that many people to eat up the fastpasses and drive the system to 60 days out.

It also stands to reason that once someone logs in to get soarin at 30 days out they will go ahead and book the illuminations and a meet and greet. So those will get booked early as riders.

I agree. And I understand being concerned. I really do.

I guess it's just the people that makes statements like these so matter of fact. We don't know that current experiences don't reflect the future. It could be worse, it could be better, or it could be exactly the same. Hopefully it's better.

I get the concern, the hesitation, and even possibly wanting to cancel trips until it's worked out. It's not unreasonable. That's not what I don't get.

What I don't get are the sentiments and insinuations that this is a massive FAIL by Disney, that Disney doesn't know what they're doing, that it's all going to totally suck and Disney is sucking the life out of everyone's vacation. (Yes I'm exaggerating ;) ) But really, that's what I don't get.

I do get the concern during the testing period. But I guess I have faith that it will all work itself out, and I guess that others don't, is just the bottom line.

Ya know what else I've noticed in possibly Round 1,245,390 of this fight? LOL Is that people will use a buzz word that sets someone off like "panic" "apologist" "doom and gloom" "loyal" "not loyal enough"… LOL On and on. Someone will then quote said buzz word completely missing the entire point of the post and then goes on the defensive over said buzz word with a lengthy response. I'm guilty myself. And then the other person comes back with, "did you read my entire post? Didn't you read what I said in post #542?? You must not be able to read…. blah blah blah". I really have no point, my head is spinning from all this FP talk. Carry on.

:rotfl2: !!!!!

We see what we want to see or we read what we want to read. Human error lol

Nothing like a good fight to get people going. And I believe we are on round 1,245,391. ;)

It is just people's opinion. There is a saying about opinions and everyone having one but I can't say it on here:) People are always going to have there own view on things. You don't think its a failure someone else does and right now you are both right. Won't know until its up and running.

And can I just say one thing..

Why do people keep saying they don't want to wait one hour or two hours plus in Every line ... I mean isn't this just a teeny weeny bit over dramatic? I mean have you ever rode CoP? Let's be real.. ;)

This- I have faith that Disney won't screw up too bad ;). And I really like what they're trying to do with fp+ I think it has a lot of potential and will benefit my family in the future

Opinions are like armpits? Everybody has at least 2 and most of them stink??? Haaaaaa!!! JK, I know the saying of which you speak of. ;)

I agree, again, I just don't understand labeling it as a giant FAIL…. yet. I will say yet, because who knows what will happen. I have high hopes.
