Why is Disneyworld such a haven for judgemental people?

I had NO idea that I was being watched while I was out having fun with my family at Disneyworld!
I had NO idea that someone was taking notes as to what I was ordering to eat, what I was wearing, how it looked on me, whether I was following the pool rules or anything else I did there.

I can't imagine spending my vacation time watching what others do instead of watching the mime in france, or off Kilter in Canada or instead of listening to the sounds of the boat horns at Epcot.

My vacation is much too precious to waste.

I enjoy riding the rides, seeing how far I CAN walk in a day (our family best was 15 miles a few years ago).......

I must admit, I DO people watch but I seem to hone in on people who are laughing and having a great time. I really notice the cute little kids and how much fun they're having.

Next time though, I think I'll have to take a look around and see if there's anyone taking notes. Seems like there are a lot of note takers out there.  :p

***DISCLAIMER, this is posted fairly tongue-in-cheek...not pointing fingers cuz I've seen a lot of these attitudes here lately.***

Sooooooo what do YOU do on your vacation?
Are you a people gawker or do you get so entranced in your surroundings that you barely notice if there ARE other people? LOL LOL

When I'm on vacation here is a list of things I DO NOT care about:

1 Who is using a refillable mug and how old it is
2 How many people are in the room next to me as long as I
can't hear them
3 How overweight, underweight, tall, short or hairy anyone is

Things I do care about:

1 Having fun with my Dh and kids

As long as someone is not infringing on my rights by cutting in front of me or screaming through my dinner I really don't give a rat's behind what they look like or what they're doing.

Ok, I admit it, I have a horrible habit. I watch strollers - it's an illness really, I was in heaven at Disneyland Paris.

Aside from that I play with my kids, I enjoy the fact that they're having a great time and we don't have to worry about anything. We goof off, we act silly, we have a good time! I take a million and one pictures, I torture my DH by making him wear funny hats, I go on the rides and forget about everything that's been bothering me.

And then I shop :teeth:

I bet you'd care if I was hairy!

(sometimes I forget to shave LOL)

When I am at Disney I'm in my own little world, which only includes my family. My only concern is how much fun we are having. I'm being serious, I don't even try to find anything to complain about, someone or something would have to "slap" me before I will come out of my "dream state". The only thing that affects it in the tiniest form, is when I'm seated next to someone with bad BO!:p

Other than a foot fetish..............

I'm just a tad bit busy just trying to watch my own "people"!!!! :D

I don't gawk at anything - I'm too busy lugging my big fat butt to the next restaurant!

The only time I really take a notice of the people is when I look to see how many of them are in ride in front of me before I can get on. If they are not keeping me up at night, being rude to me or someone else, blocking my view, or being obnoxious by running and bumping people or throwing food on the ground where I walk, I could care less. Basically, to get my attention you have to be someone really obnoxious or be a nice person who happens to strike up a conversation with me in line. The first I can't stand, the second is what Disney spirit is all about.

LOL LOL

Just off to check my notes from past trips.

Found one and on page 13, I've started a new paragraph headed:

Why is Disneyworld such a haven for judgemental people?

Coincidence or what!!!!!!!!!!!

OK - I confess. I look at the people around me. :o
I notice if they have a cool T-shirt...
I notice if a baby is doing something particularly cute....
I wave back at children who wave at me from rides...
:wave2:
I watch people smile when they approach the characters...::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I don't stare or gawk :earseek:

But I most certainly look

::yes::

I am always looking for DIS'ers and the next meet. :teeth: Or something to take a picture of in a different way.

We are usually in our own little world....not paying much attention to much of anyone else.

I do have one exception to that. We just returned last week and I definately took notice of the family who forced their little girl (maybe 4 at the most) onto the Snow White Ride. The little girl was obviously terrified to go on it. This went on as the line snaked around and around. At one point, the little girl put her hands on the chain and would not continue. So, then, the "Dad" went back and peeled her off of the chain and carried her on the ride. There were a number of us who took notice of this. I felt very sorry for the little girl and had hoped the CM's would refuse to let them ride. But they didn't. :(

Usually we mind our own business. There's no need for us to worry about others.

I had enough problems with my family at wdw, I wasn't paying the least bit attention to others, except the ones laughing. :)

My brother in law was complaining more often than taking a breath. My sister was complaining about everything especially about him. My h was complaining because he was sick and wanted everyone miserable too. My dad was making everyone complain because of seriously bad BO. I swear I had to take him swimming to get some of the stink off.

But other than that, I had tons of fun. I especially remember this little boy, I think he was a parapalegic. When Kelsea got lost I was standing on a window ledge trying to find her during a parade. I had a misty fan and was using it. Well, some of the mist fell under me, right on this little boy. All he could do was move his head and smiled the biggest, brightest smile I've ever seen.
While I was worrying about kelsea, her daddy went to find her, I would occasionally not be misting myself. Well, I'd sense a movement and there was that little boy hoping for a mist. Well, for the next 30 minutes while I was trying to stay on the ledge and looking for kelsea, I misted this little boy with the misty fan. I had to mist the other three that was with him in wheel chairs before I was able to move. But they all just smiled at me.
Kelsea was found entranced by the parade, she didn't know she was lost, thank heavens, and those little kids got a cool mist for the time they were trying to watch the parade. :)

I'm also one who will admit to people watching. I love it. I don't do it to rip on people though -- I just find people fascinating and I'm in my glory in a large crowd like WDW attracts. DH never can understand my real need to sit down on a bench and watch people -- its not his thing at all. But me, I'm a happy camper if I can take about 30 minutes of each day, sitting on a bench just checking people out. And WDW is a great place for that - you get a sampling of people all over the world. :)

I LOVE to people watch while I'm at WDW but not to judge them. I look for folks with lime green anythings...I look for people who need to have their picture taken (you know, they take turns taking pictures of each other in front of the castle - I volunteer to take pictures of them both or all)...I look for people who are having fun and if I am next to them I'll talk with them...I look for happy cm's and try to talk with them...

I am on vacation and I try to let it alllllllll slide right off my back. Grumpy cm? Give them a smile! Grumpy tourist? Give them some room. Grumpy children? Take them back to the resort for a swim.

Life is too short folks to be so judgemental...

Jill
