Why is Disney ROFR mainly BCV?

Most of our points are at BCV, and my vote on expanding would be a big NO :)...we love it there, and have never had any problems getting reservations. We love the location and the current size...

I agree -- Stormalong Bay is crowded enough. However, if they were to add a 2nd SAB, then they can expand whatever they like! ;)

It's SAB that drives BCV mania. Location, to a lesser extent, because BWV shares essentially the same location but doesn't experience the resales boost that BCV does. For pool people, BCV is as good as it gets at WDW.

Perhaps the River Country location can add a spectacular pool/water amenity. Look at what they are doing on Oahu with the Alunai Resort.

On 11/26/10 Disney bought back 3 more Beach Club contracts from The Timeshare Store, Inc.®

Agreed! Who needs a Typhon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach when your hotel has it's own water park right in it's backyard? :goodvibes

It's really remarkable. We bought all of our BCV points from Disney and I balked at paying $105 pp which was the price at our last add on, maybe 2 years ago. Now, I'm very happy we have those points.:goodvibes Yes, my family loves SAB and I do too! I was hoping BLT would have some sort of great pool because we do love that location, but it didn't and we're not buying.

I just bought a 75 point contract @ $85/point. But I lost a 100 point contract @ 70$/point in october.

The kicker is, that SAB is not part of the BCV pos. We only purchased the villas and the leisure pool/BBQ area. Everything else is subject to negotiation

Do what? Really? I know if I were to ever purchase DVC, the Beach is one place I would want to own at for SAB. But are you saying that Disney could restrict SAB to just the hotel guest?:scared1:

If that is the case does this mean our maintenance fees don't go towards SAB pool at all ?

No. Presumably, the BCV inventory pays its fair share of operating and maintaining the pool at BC/YC. But, if at some point BCV were no longer "part of" BC/YC for pool purposes, then these payments would also end.

That said, I think separating the two is pretty unlikely. You have to ask yourself "What's in it for Disney?" In this case, I can't see a way that Disney makes more money by excluding BCV from the YC/BC pool, while I *can* see a way for Disney to make more money by e.g. taking over TOWTL.

So, Disney could restrict the use of SAB to only the hotel guest? I don't think that they would ever do that, but do they have that legal right? That is the only reason I would ever want to own at the Beach Club. Boy, if I did own there and they denied me entrance into SAB I would be furious. Can you imagine what that would do to the resell value of BCVs?

The Timeshare Store, Inc.® just had 3 more contracts bought back at the Beach Club.

1) 100 point listing sold at $82 per point

2) 50 point listing sold at $82 per point

3) 200 point listing sold at $84 per point

What if they restricted the use of SAB to direct sale purchases only. SAB not available to resale purchasers!!!!:scared1::rotfl:
