Why is Disney blocking Feb booking?!

Hi everyone! I am trying to book a trip to Disney for the week of Feb 20th, 2022 and literally every single resort I put in says is filled. I cannot imagine that is actually the case. Everything from value resorts to deluxe resorts. Why would Disney do that? Glitch? Other reason? It’s been like this for a couple days now.

@bsmcneil I’m sorry I’m such a Disney newbie. What does that mean exactly? Do they rank how crowded it will be? It just seems so odd literally not one room available anywhere.

Yes, it's a rating of how heavy they anticipate the crowd levels to be. 10 being heavy/peak crowds.

As a previous poster said, the lack of availability is probably a combination of Presidents Weekend, Princess Half Marathon weekend, and some school districts having ski week/midwinter break.

Ah. I mean, generally it just means they're busy - like, the absolute busiest time of year (for instance, Christmas Day through New Year's also tend to be projected as really crowded). I definitely hear you on it seeming weird that everything is booked - it could be a problem with the website/technology, or a combination of factors. I did a really quick search myself and it does seem related to the dates (for instance, I tried for Feb 11-17, 13-19, 15-21, 17-23). Feb 11-17 and 13-19 worked - anything with a date overlapping on the 20th stopped working, though (the next period I could get to work was 2/25). Sometimes you can have success if you could split it into two stays? That wasn't working for those dates for now, either. Have you reached out to a travel agency?

I would definitely try booking a split stay (two resorts). The upside of that is also that you get a fully cleaned room part way through your trip. We are going in late February, and that worked for our dates. Good Luck!

Yep - Presidents Day is late this year. Schools here are usually off the following week, but it all collides this year. I suggest breaking down your search - try 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 nights with different check-in dates. WDW’s booking algorithm is funky. For example it may allow a 2-night starting Sunday plus a 4-night stay starting on Tuesday instead of a 6-night staring on Sunday.

There have been a lot of reports on the RunDisney board that there is no hotel room availability for Princess weekend. I think the resorts are booked completely but there will be cancellations at some point. I saw it about a month before for Thanksgiving and people will start to back out of the Princess races depending on where they got in their training.
