Why is chef mickeys so hard to get into?

I called for June last week and was able to get 8pm and that was for a party of 8.
On another note, on our honeymoon 10 yrs ago I called at 4pm and was able to get an adr for 530 that same day at chef mickeys, and when we went there were empty tables!

Chef Mickey's is very popular. I've never had a problem booking 180 days out but somewhere around 90 days close to the date availability seems to dry up. I've never seen an empty table here when i've gone.

Character interaction is the best! We did Breakfast and Dinner there during one trip and Minnie Mouse remembered us! Donald and Goofy like to 'take' interesting things guests have to play with. Goofy is especially partial to lightsabers.

We think CM and CP are the best buffets. We have eaten at 1900 Parkfare the last two trips....and I think the food is not as plentiful in selection as the other two. We also LOVED CAPE MAY'S at Beach CLub too. YOu might try that as well.
