We own at AKV precisely for the Savannah view rooms and the animals and atmosphere. When we travel with more than 4 people, we stay at AKV Kidani. The 3rd bathroom in the 2 bedroom is perfect (especially when I'm with 5 or 6 cousins - all ladies!). Our other home resort is BWV for it's location and it was our "first" love there!!
My cousins have said it's remote and without a car a long ride to the rest of the World, and I hear them complain about the long walk to the lobby, but we usually have at least one car as one cousin lives in S. Florida, so we just park under the area our room is located in and only go to the lobby if we need something or are eating in Sanaa.
So, I would say length of hallways to lobby (and they're freezing like at BWV), and remote location is why people don't choose it.
When we stay here, it's all about the resort and AK Park. I read in one of the posts that it's like a vacation within a vacation and that's exactly what we make it. I like to have a massage at the fitness center at Jambo, dine in the three restaurants during our stay, tour AK Park (one of my two favs), spend time in the lounges and, of course watch the animals at the resorts!
It's a purchase we'll never regret and to be honest, I love the fact that everytime a new
DVC opens on property everyone flocks to get to it, leaving availability at AKV in case we come up with a quick last minute trip! We never had a problem getting into Kidani and hopefully that won't change
