That is so precious!

One of my very favorite memories is walking through Tomorrow Land with my precious 3 year old granddaughter, Megan, as she held my hand on our way to meet Princess characters. It was her very first trip, she was willing to leave her family and go with me. I smile just thinking about it now!

I hope to have these moments in the coming years. Our 1st GD is 18 months and it will be a couple of years before we get to take her to WDW but this is why we bought DVC. Almost all of our kids have left the house and I anticipate more grandkids but not for a few more years.

Great memory Bobbi! Life is too short - what a great story.

I wish I could say I was there with them, but, I could not make it - and - my Wife ad my Son (and his squeeze) are going down in April. I may try and sneak a visit in September.

Regardless, when contemplating DVC I always say throw away the spreadsheets - you own it because you are a Disney Geek. When we bought 15 years ago it was a perfect yearly vacation for my young kids and I forecasted that some day it would be perfect for my grand kids. That hunch paid off in spades.

Today is AK if I am right - should get a call later.

Nadine had her 2nd BD yesterday. They somehow met another family yesterday who's two year old little boy shared the same Birthday and took a picture of them both holding hands. Priceless.

I fully get it that at 2 she probably will not remember the experience - but - she will in the future.

My daughter spent the last 4 months educating her on all the Characters. Minnie was her favorite by far. So, it was so cool she could meet her.

i love looking at pics when we took my daughter for the first time. she was 13 months. just getting into walking well on her own. we took my parents with us. priceless. she loved it. she thought all the characters were giant stuffed animals. so many awesome pics of her just hugging them. she fell asleep in king louis huge arms almost for a pic. he got on the ground to hold her. awesome trip. ya she won't remember but she is 8 now and she loves seeing the pics. you can't get back those moments. . .

enjoy every minute and trip of them!

We would love to take our GD but our son is in an anti-Disney phase and they are moving to Bermuda in a month for a 2 year contract. We figure it will be a couple years before they join us but she will be the perfect age when they get back.

I also have an anti Disney son. We have good relations otherwise. Thankfully he likes the Phillies, Eagles, Cape May and the Poconos, so even though they live in Houston, they come north sometimes!

Taking GC is one of the reason we bought into DVC. Good for you!

I worked at a company who had a contract with WDW. It was not fun. I said - forget it - I will never go there again. Five years later my Father passed and I used my inheritance to buy DVC. We live in Atlanta (7 to 8 hour drive) and my wife does not like to fly - the kids were young so it was a perfect investment.

My kids both were Disney College Program kids. I warned them both about what to expect.

My son saw it for what it is worth and had a good time. He wa s more intelligent then his Managers and laughed when problems arose. Multiple Girlfriends and BFF's he is still close with. He is now a Lawyer.

My Daughter - Nadine's mom, had issues. She called us crying one night saying - I want to come home they don't care (after one of her roomate's was let go for a minor infraction). We somehow calmed her down and explained this is the real world - some companies will not care about your personal feelings. She stuck it out thank god and agreed it was the right thing to do.

When she got home I explained - you now need to separate the Business v. the Product. You will never have to be a Cast Member again - but you can be a guest for the rest of your life. I had to do make that distinction also.

Anyways - yesterday was a magical moment - and as a guest I applaud WDW. I own DVC because of the Product - not the company.

We own DVC for the discounted room rate because that and some minor DVC perks is all that DVC really is. Disney and WDW is what makes Disney, Disney.

I agree! I often see people on Disney forums trying to make financial sense of buying DVC. I just tell them it's a luxury item like buying an expensive car. If it's something you want and can afford it, you buy it. Great pic too! My youngest DGD had a moment with Minnie on our last trip. DGD went in for a hug and didn't want to let go, Minnie held her for an extra long time because she sensed it was important. Worth the price of admission, and ownership. :earsboy:
