Two words; dental work!

So now I need two root canals.

I've priced around and the lowest I can get one done for is around $450.00. (The Dr. I've been referred to though wants $835!)

But here's the kicker, the "build-up and crown" will cost me an additional $900.00!

Now I'm thinking about just getting an implant for the one that needs immediate attention. After all is said and done, it might end up costing close to the same.

I'm telling my kids to become dentists! That's where the BIG BUCKS are!

Do you have dental insurance? Maybe some of the costs will be covered . . .

{{{Hugs}}} Blondie so sorry to hear about all your dental woes. When you do not have dental insurance it's tough on the budget.

Deb, I have Federal BC/BS, and they won't cover root canals or crowns.

BC/BS is good medically, but when it comes to denistry, THEY SUCK!

I'm picking up supplemental dental insurance at the hospital in November during the next "open enrollment," but I have to get this one taken care of pronto! It can't wait that long.

Guess you are sending your dentist on a nice vacation this year, uh? Believe me though I know! I go through spells with the same kind of thing you are going through. Knock on wood though it has been about six months though since I had a tooth problem of any kind!

My cousin's a dentist... actually a specialist... I've been told that she makes a six figure salary!!!

Dental work is very expensive. I finally figured out that, at least for me, it is very much a pay me now or pay me more later kind of thing. For close to the past 10 years, I have been going to the dentist every three months and it has really made a difference. I spend $80 per year for the extra two cleanings, but my oral health has been much better and major problems have been headed off early. Good luck!

OUch!

Poor thing, my DH just had a root canal done yesterday...

Our copay was $200, I thought that was expensive, but I guess not!

Blondie I went thru all that last spring!!! I used up my $1000 allotment from my insurance and also paid $500 out of my own pocket. That was for one root canal, a crown, and three little fillings!!!
