Why has WDW never updated the TTA ride?

I know the TTA (Tomorrowland Transit Authority) likes to showcase Walt Disney's 20th century vision of the future, I assume as a tribute to him? However I was wondering how come WDW has never updated that section since we are now in the 21st century?

Why have they never updated TTA? Because they've never needed to! It's perfect the way it is.

(To be fair, the ride mechanics actually have been updated.)

They have updated it. I remember it as the people mover. ;)

Hey if it ain't broke, don't fix it! :teeth:

Seriously though, what would you like to see/hear changed?

Myst

It is perfect just the way it is. I nice chance to relax and still have the kids think they are on a ride, and besides it not for that how could my family page "mr morrow mr tom morrow" the rest of the day. Gotta love it.

They have changed some of the displays above Buzz in the past but we think it is great the way it is right now. Nice and relaxing with a cool breeze every now and then.

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority doesn't (and never did) highlight Disney's view of the future; it highlights TomorrowLand. When an attraction it passes through/by changes substantially (RIP, Timekeeper - we hardly knew ye ;)) the script is changed. But listen to the script next time - it describes the various attractions.

Yes, for not changing it has gone from Peoplemover to TTA in 1994. It was actually Walt's idea to be part of EPCOT and the voice went from Jack Wagner to the commuter computer which went along with a Tomarrowland change.

This is a classic. I actually wish this went around the Magic Kingdom instead of just in Tomorrowland. LOL :rotfl:

I also agree that it is great just the way it is. I still call it the people mover. :thumbsup2

I have to agree, there is nothing wrong with it the way it is. Sadly, I still refer to it as the WEDway!

Because it is the best ride ever! :teeth: Seriously, it's great the way it is. This is one attraction they can leave alone.

This was actually one of my DD8's favorite rides on our recent trip (9/27-9/30). It's the ride we went on most in fact! We rode it 5 times without getting off the first night we were at MK and again 5 more times during MNSSHP.

The ride stopped for about 10 minutes in the dark (before entering Space Mountain) so she fell asleep...it almost lulled me to sleep too. We both enjoyed riding it over and over again in the dark...taking in all the sights and sounds of Tomorrowland (and even the fireworks over the castle) while resting our aching feet and enjoying the cool breeze.

Awwww....the People Mover! I love this ride, and still refer to it as the People Mover. I agree with everyone else. Don't touch this ride. It's perfect the way it is. How can someone not love it????

well just a guess for me but i think it is because it was the way walt disney wanted it and that they should keep it that way because he wanted it that way. so i guess it is a tribute to him.

I'm just grateful that WDW still has the People Mover, unlike Disneyland CA!
Exactly! What were they thinking with The Rocket Rods?

TTA is one of my fav attractions. I still call it the People Mover! :teeth:

Ah ... I love the Wedway People Mover! (TTA-bah...)

We have to go on at least once everytime we hit Tomorrowland...so many times per trip. We ride with our hands in the air, like we're on a roller coaster (that tradition started years ago when we were chaperoning during the FIRST robotics competitions - those teens always brought out the kid in us). My DS loves it, and my DD does too...might as well be a roller coaster as far as she's concerned.

I would like them to fix the actual mechanics of the ride. It has far too many breakdowns. I had two evacuations in one weekend!

As far as any other updating, what can you really do, other than change the ride itself? And as much as I loved the short-lived Rocket Rods, there is no need to go through THAT disaster again. I'd like to see them fix the track and reinstate Disneyland's Peoplemover.

This is my husband's absolute favorite ride. Who know why, but he likes it. This was one of my bargaining chips to take a last minute trip for Halloween. I told him we could ride the People Mover and go to Texas de Brazil. He was sold. :cool1:
