Why has Value Season changed for 2005?

Hi all! Please bear with me if this has already been discussed, but I haven't logged on much during the holidays and I pretty much just found out that this year, the first few weeks of November will not be considered Value Season, as they've been in the past. :sad2:

What gives?!?

Do you think it's because they assume that with the Anniversary Celebration it will be busier in November? Are more people going in November now, negating the need for a Value Season at that time? We were there from 11/14 - 11/21, and the whole week was refreshing quiet, until Friday afternoon, when people started arriving for Thanksgiving week.

Any ideas or opinions - I'd love to hear your thoughts on this... :D

I was discussing this with my husband just this morning. I personally believe it has to do with Food and Wine Festival, MNSSHP, Jersey Week, and the fact that so many school systems around the country are on year round schedules now. The parks were quite busy the first week of november when we were there this year.

I am going to agree. The food and wine fest. was 45 days last year instead of 30. A lot of schools have gone to the yea round schooling and half a week off in oct. My county has not done this. Only south county and a few around us, should be soon.(I live in atlanta)More people more money. . . .

I think it's because November is no longer a slow time for WDW (F&W Festival, Jersey Week). I was there the first week of November 2004 and found it almost as busy as it was when I was there in July 2004. I couldn't believe the crowds.

October used to be value season too. Then it got more crowded, so it became regular season (started in 2000 I believe). The same thing has happened to November.

Well, I guess it does make sense, but as I said, the week before Thanksgiving was pretty slow this year.

Thanks for the imput! :D

I was there the week before too and LOVED the low crowds... bummed that it changed. Although now going ot go the week after and enjoy some christmas decorations and such.

It is almost to the point that there is no value season any more!
It is down to just Januaray, about 10 days in February, September and just from mid November to mid December. That equals to about 14 weeks total.
That is too bad! :sad2:
