Why has Columbia Harbour House been closing at 5pm?

The past several times I've tried eating supper there, the place has been closed after 5pm. Is that standard for CHH in the non-peak season? I ate there one day last week and they were open till 8pm. But now it's been 5pm closing time. Sort of annoying because I enjoy going there for a light supper (the clam chowder).

Thats weird, we have been in April, June, Aug, Oct all of 08 and Jan 09 and have never seen it closed early.

I, too, haven't had this problem and we always eat there.

We were at WDW from Jan 2-Jan 8 and were craving clam chowder for dinner one day {around 5:30 or so} CHH was closed. True clam chowder lovers can understand our disappointment! We never would have expected it to have been closed that early

I would be very disappointed to find it closed. I love the clam chowder and always look forward to having it a few times when I'm there. I hope someone knows the answer as to why and if it will continue.

See, that's my problem. I love their clam chowder. But everytime I've tried to go to CHH, except the last time MK had EMH at night (can't remember when), they've been closed.

I have NEVER seen them open past dark. I thought they closed at 4, like Starring Rolls.
Since we usually only go to MK at night (emh til 3 am- gotta love it!) we are always disappointed
Wish they would stay open later.

We're having a similar problem with other MK restaurants for our March ADRs. Crystal Palace's last seating is at 5:30 almost everyday during our March trip & the latest ADR was at 3:30 pm. Strangely, the park doesn't close until around 10 pm. Weird!!!

Sounds like this might be part of the general service cutbacks due to the economy.
