Why DVC so busy 11/4 & 11/5/07

I am attempting to rent points and a DVC member checked out the dates for all the DVC properties and there is no availability. I thought this would be a low vol period for WDW????

Do DVC properties open up as time goes on or is this pretty much a dead end for me and to start looking else where. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Low volume time for WDW is not usually a low volume time for DVC properties. The Food & Wine Fest will be going on, which generally packs the place. You might also be hitting Jersey Week.

DVC is pretty much full (with waiting lists) from October through the 1st week of January. Rooms occassionally open up at the 30 day mark as people hit the last day to cancel without losing points, but there is a waitlist for those rooms. Also, unused DVC rooms go to CRO at that point. You might get lucky if someone on the Rent/Trade board has a standing reservation they can't use, but that would be a long shot.

I would look into other options.

If you want to rent from a DVC member, you'll need to start looking much earlier. DVC members can (and do) book at their home resort 11 months out, and at other DVC resorts at 7 months.

At certain times of the year, you can get a villa pretty easily inside the 7 month window, as long as you're not too picky about which resort you want. But December, the Food and Wine Festival period, and major holidays are very tough to get unless you reserve very early.

Its Columbus Day weekend. Plus the first week of Food/Wine. Epcot has lots of Old Bands playing starting the first of Oct. We booked ours back in April.

That would be the first weekend in October, not November. But you still have F&WF, Jersey Week, Super Soap (I think the next weekend), maybe a golf tournament.

You need to find other lodgings or pay cash through CRO to stay in a DVC resort.

Plan B = Buy DVC
