Why DVC Ownership?

I purchased for my kids!! And the good Lord will, my grandchildren someday!! :yay:

I will say that if you finance, then you may think twice since the interest can make it an expensive purchase in the end!!!:scared1:

Good Luck!!! :cool1:

I am just so curious about people's usage patterns of DVC. I am really trying to convince DH to buy DVC. We went twice in the last year, stayed in a 2bedroom at BLT in Sept on cash and studio at BCV in May (rented points).

We loved BCV and would probably buy there. We liked BLT and proximity to MK, but BCV we both fell in love with! So I'm just curious how many points people have and how often they would travel?

I'm thinking around 160-200 points - enough to stay in a 2 bedroom every other year.

How often do you travel and how many points do you have? And why you decided to buy DVC?

If you're sure you'll only go to WDW every other year, then the number of points you're considering should be enough.

I only have 160 points and have been a member for a year and a half. At first I thought every other year would be fine for us, but I'm realizing that out travel patterns may change once my youngest is out of high school. Bottom line, I'd like to add on in about a year.

We bought in because we like staying in deluxe accommodations and in fact we should've purchased sooner - I fell in love with WDW our first trip out. I also want to be able to bring extended family along and one day look forward to bringing my grandchildren to WDW. All I need to do is wait for one of my sons to get married and have kids!

As others have suggested, if you love BCV, you should choose it as your home resort in order to get the 11 month booking advantage especially if you want to visit during Food and Wine.

I started at 270 OKW points and have gone up (and up lol) from there.

No regrets, just wished I had bought sooner than I did (1997). I had my fair share of tours and ice cream socials before taking the plunge, lol. :)

I started with 200 points, and have added 500 since, a bit too much. I am selling some just to stay with 600-700 points. It's just a great place to be at, just clean, freindly, and most of all fun
Thanks
Bobby

That is what we thought - buy points for every other year.
After the first trip, we knew we needed more points. And more. And more. And still want more.:lovestruc
We are averaging 1 trip a year with all of our kids (5) and one or two trips a year just the two of us.
Enjoy!
