The value resorts do not have slides at their pools. Also, they do not have hot tubs, and neither does Ft. Wilderness. They are themed and attractive, and larger than the Ft. Wilderness pools, but they do not have slides. Really, the only difference between what the moderate and deluxe hotels have at their pools and Ft. Wilderness is the slide (and the hot tubs). When we have stayed at one of the deluxe resorts, like AKL for example, my kids might go down the slide a few times. In a crowded pool, though, there is always a wait to go down the slide, and they eventually get tired of standing on line just to go down the slide. So, we really don't miss having a slide at Ft. Wilderness. This resort has so many unique things that none of the other resorts have (petting zoo, multiple playgrounds, wilderness swamp trail, campfire, movies, etc.) that a basic pool is hardly a problem. As for not having a hot tub, I don't think I would use one at a campground even if they had it (gross).
