;)

We got the SSR offer in today's mail. We certainly do not need to add on. We have 470 points a year (2 contracts: 170 BCV and 300 OKW). Yet, Everytime I walk by the table, I pick it up and read it, And read it again. I put it down. I see my DH pick it up and read it, and put it down. Then he will pick it up again. Neither one of us want to "file" it. I just like reading it. LOL. Maybe if we READ it enough, the points will magically appear in our account! :rolleyes1

I think it is a terrific offer. You can even bank the points into next year. Unfortunatley, we are not in a position to be adding on right now. :sad2:

Oh, tell me about it. I just came home from work and found it on my dining room table! Believe me, I would love to add on, especially since I only have 150 points, but I filed it away, don't want it sitting there taunting me ;)
I would love a small add on, though, I would do 50-75 if they had some kind of incentive but 120 is more than I can swing right now.

Know exactly how you feel. Got mine today in the mail. I knew it was coming. I already knew of the offer from reading her. I added 50 pts month in half ago at SSR. Still was tempted into doing this. Then again its paying the mortgage or living at disney couple times of the yr..lol :teeth:

Wow, you added on already, good for you!
I have been thinking, like I said about a small one, I thought maybe 50 so I could use points on weekends, but most of the time 50 points isn't even enough to get you through the weekend. I think I need to stop torturing myself and be happy with my 150 for now, and think about it again maybe next year.

I thought I was the only one whose already dreaming of MORE POINTS!!! And I haven't even closed yet (well, almost)!!!

Note to self: Got to stop visiting those resale sites. LOL :badpc:

I may be the exception, but so far the offer sits in the trash. However, we have been known to go into the trash for other WDW offers, so we're not really home safe (with our money) until the garbage is collected on Monday!

I know exactly what you mean!! LOL

Every time I call my guide to add-on, (I ALWAYS initiate the call) at the end of the conversation, I tell her "And don't call me again" :rotfl:

She makes it a point to always say "Okay you called me this time" because she knows what Im going to say.

Points are evil!

It is a nice offer.

and isn't the castle just beautiful...

boy I would love to do it - but the budget can't allow it.

We added a teen driver(16) to our insurance policy a few months ago, and her younger sister just completed driver's ed yesterday, so there is no add-on in my future :sad2: Now, if the oldest will consider foregoing a college education in a year, I may be able to do a small add-on then!

I am with all of you. It was so tempting, but hubby just giggles at me and says we have enough points. We "only" have 200, just got hubby to agree to a 50 pt. add on, which we just got last month. I should be happy with that, but as others have said, it never seems like enough points to me. HA! LOL! I am with you Disney1fan: Won't they just leave us alone? LOL! :sunny:

We're right there too! We share 355 points with my mom, but being in our early 30s, I'd love around 100 points at SSR, to guarantee WDW vacations past retirement age.

We recently started construction on our house to expand a bathroom (we only had one so the laundry will be a full-bath when we're done -- no more sharing), but I was really considering putting off construction for a year or two so I could have more points. DH made the observation however, that two bathrooms will definitely be more helpful to our marriage!

:rotfl: Glad to know we're not the only ones!! We haven't thrown ours out either. I think we keep hoping for some miracle way to be able to add on! Points are not only evil, they're a terrible addiction!! :goodvibes

The offer looks good to us, I just wish I could add points from a location other than SSR... I don't mean to upset SSR owners, but the resort just isn't our cup of tea. I've tried to like it... truly! Ummm... the furnishings are nice... To be fair though, I didn't like staying out there when it was called the Disney Village either...

I think I just read too many of Richyams posts. If I'm going to put up with the outside hallways, I want the spaciousness and low point stays of OKW. ;)

I feel the same way.
I see zero advantage of SSR over OKW (except for the extra years if I really expected to still be alive at that time).
If I am going to be that far away from the action, in a spread out resort, at least I want the larger rooms, larger balconies, and lower point cost.

At some point the newness of SSR will wear off. When those buying into SSR realize just how much more space they get at OKW, I expect that the demand for OKW will increase. I may find I need to start booking at the 8 month window, or I may find I have to stay at SSR due to OKW being completely booked.

If I see such an offer for an add-on at the Boardwalk (or even OKW if the point cost is close to that of the resales), I might be interested.

I know the feeling. I handed DH the card with the info and said to him, "Oh-this isn't good!" We both know how easy it is to do an add-on and the thought of a trip to WDW after this awful, never ending winter.......

I took the first step yesterday. I threw the envelope away. :rotfl2:

And yet the offer with the Castle still sits on my desk just begging to be open and read again! Not quite cured yet :earboy2:

eileenfk - ITA. I don't really see the point in having ownership with both OKW and SSW as they are in the same location. Now, if they'd give us an option of BW or VWL, that would be of interest to us.

I talked to our guide yesterday, and told him I really was not thinking of adding on due to our son going to college next year - but like a fool I asked him to tell me what the current offers are . . .

100 points, no dues until 2006, and $8 a point off without giving up next year's points . . . he also stressed that these points do not expire as soon as my others at VBR or BCV - then I told him I would be in my 90's when these expire!

I'm still trying to keep myself away from the phone today - we burned almost all of our 2005 use year points on our cruise last year, and 220 points for 2005 sure would be great!

I do feel the same about SSR as some of the posters here, if it was OKW, with the same perks, the deal would be done!

Also just talked to DW - do whatever you want to do honey . . . .

Someone tie my dialing finger down - PLEASE!

I threw mine out so I was not tempted. We have not even been home yet and I swear I will not add on. I swear it. I purchased 210 and that was all we could afford and I cant even think about adding. I am just soooooo happy to be amember and go to disney twice in one year.
