Why Doesn't Disney Like Me????

I'll start by saying we're going in less than four weeks and I'm super excited and can't wait. We did get Free Dining and that's terrific! But it seems like every day I come on here, I find yet another reason why I feel the cards are stacked against our vacation! Am I the only one feeling this way????

1. Refrigerator situation---we may or may not have one, we may or may not get compensation, we may or may not have enough ice to fill the cooler I now have to fold up and shove in my suitcase for the trip down.

2. FP+ -- Nope, we're not at one of the selected resorts. So now all those people double dipping (if that is actually allowed--which I suspect it will be) will only make FPs harder to get for us common people. One way or another, there will either be longer lines or fewer FPs available--neither option good.

3. BOG -- Now I see that if I had a room only res, I'd be able to book a time for lunch, sort of FP style. Well, I made the mistake buying a package through Disney so I'm not eligible for that. So longer line again for us common people.

4. FP KTTW/Tickets -- Now I see that if you have a ticket not linked to your key card, you can actually pull two sets of FPs for the same ride. Once again, I bought everything through Disney, so it's all linked and I'll only be able to get one set, where others can get two.

So I buy everything through Disney and they reward me by giving special treatment to other people! Thanks! I think I'm starting to take this personally!

It's like you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

You should relax, and get excited because you're going to Disney!! Go in with a good frame of mind and I'm sure your trip will be great.

You got free dining....FREE DINING the last week of August. You either got that through a pin or a bounce back because it wasn't offered to the general public. So you were either super smart for booking it last year or super lucky to receive a pin.

Look at the thread about free dining for Oct. - Dec. There are people who won't be able to sleep tonight trying to get free dining for their desired resort tomorrow.

Stop looking at your cup as half empty, and start looking at your cup as half full.

Most people are in the same fridge situation as you. The fastpass+ situation could be a potential nightmare for testers. As for BOG, no one has a confirmation number. Who knows? You may be able to book advanced reservations as soon as you arrive in Disney. As for the double dippers.....how many people actually know about this?

Focus on the positive because you and I both know, there will be something new on these boards to gripe about tomorrow.

Sorry...I don't mean to be harsh. What I really want to say is relax and have an amazing vacation!

I could be wrong but I don't believe there are any type of reservations or FP style available for BOG for lunch. And no one will be able to double up on FP. Once you link your ticket to your KTTW card the reg tickets won't work. So enjoy your trip.

Good grief! You sure do have a bad way of looking at life! If you honestly think your trip is ruined because of these reasons that practically everyone else is dealing with than perhaps you should just stay home. WDW already has Eeyore and honestly doesn't need more of his gloomy attitude.

Cheer up and look at the bright side of life. You can apparently afford a nice vacation, you will be on vacation, you won't be at work, you will be with your loved ones. A bad day at WDW is still better than a great day at home (for me atleast). You need to change your way of thinking or nothing is every going to be great even when it is all rainbows and unicorns!

And there is a webpage up that at least at the moment appears to be letting anyone with a room-only reservation reserve a "fast pass" for BOG lunch. (To the OP: Try your Magical Express confirmation number if you have it to try and book the BOG fast pass - people are now reporting success with that.)

Other than the refrigerator, all the items are things you won't notice unless you go in specifically looking for them.

The refrigerator situation is something everyone either will or won't have to deal with.

The numbers just aren't there for FP+ testing to really affect your ability to get FPs. They are definitely limiting the timeslots open for testing.

And no, not all RO reservations are able to book that leaked website for BOG lunch.

The possibility of double dipping FPs (if it even works by the time you go) isn't something that will be known by very many people. Certainly not enough to significantly affect FP distribution.

Don't let the things you can't control affect your enjoyment.

I see the "you should be HAPPY to be paying Disney tons of money for your vacation" cheerleaders are out.

There is nothing wrong with being frustrated that other guests are essentially getting better treatment for the same money that you are putting out. And for the record - the OP never said their trip would be "ruined", in fact, she stated that she was excited for it, despite feeling left out of some things.

Hopefully many more people wont feel it necessary to (chime in/pile on) with many more comments. Almost all of us agree that the OP did not convince us that Disney was out to get her.

We all sometimes write things that with hindsight we wouldn't have written.

Oh my goodness! I could have said the same thing about our trip that we just got back from except we did not have free dining In fact, one of the resorts we stayed at had a tiny discount (AKL) and I PROMISED my husband we'd stay there this year because he's wanted to stay there for years so we ate the higher cost; we did not know upon arrival if we would have a fridge (we did, in both resorts!); our park tickets were on our KTTW card so no double dipping FPs; we didn't go during FP+ testing so no FP+ for us...

The only thing on your list that didn't apply to us was the BOG reservation, because when we went no one could reserve lunch.

ANYWAY, my point is, most of your complaints/fears apply to everyone staying on site who booked a package. It's not just you. If Disney hates you, then they hate 90+% of their onsite guests because MOST people are not testing FP+. And really, unless you visit here or other Disney fan forums, people won't even know about the possibility to double dip for FPs.

Seriously--I say this with kindness, but chill out. Those are not concerns unique to you. Most people visiting the parks are in the exact same boat as you. Try to let it go so you can have a great trip.

FTR, I have never gotten a pin code either.

Okay, okay, geez.....

I know it's not just me. I know a lot of people are in the same boat. I know I should be happy about the free dining. I know I'm going to Disney. I know we're going to have a great vacation. In fact---I DO KNOW ALL THESE THINGS.

I was trying to be tongue-in-cheek because it does seem like every day there's a new strike against those of US (Look---I didn't say just me!!!!) who booked an August vacation package at a non-selected hotel.

I don't believe for one minute that the FP situation will have no effect on the rest of us. How can it not? You add a whole bunch of people pulling extra FPS and there's going to be some sort of repercussion. FPs aren't unlimited, are they?

If you all want to judge me as Debbie Downer from just a couple posts, go ahead. I know that's not the case.

Just try to remember...though the boards have many people posting I would venture to say we are still a minority of people when compared to the amount of people who visit Disney...and I am sure many of those not on the DIS are unaware of many things that Disney offers..even FPs!

Also, we all enjoy posting good news or exciting things and since the new Magi Bands seem to be the talk of the boards of course it seems like everyone but you is getting picked...or depending upon who's speculating what your perception of what to expect can be slanted one way or another. You won't really know until you get there and it may be that those who are part of the test may have more problems than those of us who aren't. Heck I remember when people use to gripe about not getting in on Free Dining which you have...

Sometimes when we think we have the worst of it, it all turns out to be the best...just go and enjoy your trip and don't worry about what others have or what you may miss out on or what obstacles you may encounter...just stick with your plans and have a great time!

I have to agree, you are going on vacation to DISNEY with your family. The Happiest Place on Earth and you are upset about filling coolers with ice and FP tix. How about the bright side....you are going to see characters and ride awesome rides, eat good food that you got with free dining ( if I read correctly), fireworks, smiles, Mickey ears, Mickey ice cream, parades, the smiles on your kids faces as you are the hero who took them there. In a years time or even in a few months the fact that you did not have ice will be gone but the memories that you make will last forever. Just consider not getting BOG ressies a reason to go back and do it all over again!

Now go pack your suitcases and worry about something else....like how much will my face hurt from all the smiling I will be doing.

I sympathize with the rest of your concerns though, I am in the same boat (and did I mention I have to pay for our food though lol kidding). Even though they seem like small things, they are irritating when they all add up. I think it will be good for everyone when all of this testing is over and it all finalizes and rolls out. Its just dragging on too long now imo.
