Why doesn't Disney do something like this?

I think this would be so perfect for a mod resort for families of 6. I would be sold. I know they have suites, but this feels like the perfect in between for pricing, more than value/mod, but less than a suite or deluxe. Ahhhh, I would be in heaven for such an option, and the kids would think the bunk beds off in their own little cubby are way cool.

That's a picture of the Wyndham Grand Hotel at Bonnet Creek. When I saw those pictures I wondered the very same thing as you. I think Disney does have some deluxe rooms sort of like this, but I need Mod prices so we can stay longer.;)

Yes, it is Bonnet Creek. I agree. Longer stay is always a plus. :)
Disney has bunk beds rooms at the Wilderness Lodge, but they still only sleep 4, 3yo and older. I need an awesome Disney resort that sleeps 6 in one room. :woohoo:

They would have to build a whole new resort to do so. If they did anything like that in an existing resort, they would have to lower that resort's capacity a lot! Plus you have to have doorways that are a certain size, and you would have to have elevators in all the buildings.

Going just on cost alone, it would not be a cheap stay either. When you take into consideration the fact that the AoA suites are more than double the cost of the standard rooms, well, you may as well get a DVC unit. Disney wouldn't have it for an in between price.

But Disney does do things for a family of six. But, most families are smaller. We went with my family of six (son with wife and two kids and then my husband and myself) and we just got two rooms. Why should Disney cater to every single niche out there? They do what they can. Why not ask Holiday Inn to provide these kinds of rooms? Oh wait, they probably do but you have to pay extra for them. Oh yeah, that's what Disney does.

I would love to see bunk beds in the DVC deluxe studio rooms.

Disney caters to every little niche because they want the money. They don't want people staying at Holiday Inn. So if that's what it takes to sway people to stay on property, I think Disney would want to know.

If you want DVC bunks, you get THV.

Sarcasm much?
They do what they can.
Are you serious? They are a giant corporation, not a small family owned business just getting by. They do what they want and they cater in anyway to make more money...and lots of it. I love Disney, but I really cannot stand this attitude I read often on these boards.

We are a family of 6 and I would definitely consider a room like that!

I see pps have mentioned that Disney already has options for families of 6...true, but I would prefer something like this (at a mod. price) for many reasons.

I just can't get excited about the family suites at the new AoA, as most of the beds are actually converted from a different type of furniture. After a long day at the parks, the last thing I want to do is have to take time to assemble beds for the majority of my party.

2 bedroom suites at Deluxe resorts or 2 bedroom villas are cost prohibitive for my family.

Getting 2 regular rooms at a value would work, but if we can't get connecting rooms, then I have to stay in a separate room from my husband.

2 couples + 2 kids is a totally different situation than a family of 2 adults plus 4 young kids.

My thoughts exactly. There really isn't an in between option. Not saying they should or need to provide it, but it is definitely something that would appeal to many.

That room is $179 per night, plus a $16 per night resort fee, plus $13 per night for self-parking if you have a car. If Disney were to build (from scratch) a Moderate Suite Resort, there's no way in the world the pricing or hotel amenities would be competitive.

I was gonna say the same. If AoA suites are the same price as a standard room at the moderates, i can just imagine what theyd charge for a fam suite at the moderte level.

We were actually considering staying there, that is until my 13 year old :cheer2: daughter said great so I can bring a friend . That was the end of it.

+1. Sometimes you have to choose on site or off based on your needs. We frequent both depending upon the kind of trip we want and discounts available. I admit we use room service and valet so we stay deluxe but there are many hotels off site that are as close or closer than the moderates and value. As noted if Disney built this type of resort it would be in the deluxe category pricing wise. Why not take a chance and try the Wyndham Grand ?

It would be nice for a type of Moderate suite for families.
It is nice that they did AOA but we won't stay there at that overpriced rate. Also not sold on the room accomodations and decor. It is too way out there for us.
I like the more subdued atmosphere at the mods. And definitely can't afford the deluxe.

go online and check out the new suites at AoA value rsorts they are nice if one wants a suite the Lion King one just opened as well they are nice

that is what the fw cabins are for - if you don't want or like DVC.
they have a full bed w/bunk beds in the bedroom
the living area has a murphy bed

bunk beds disney tried them in their hotels at WL and AKL.

remember AKL until DVC got some of it - was probably the worst hotel on WDW property in keeping it full. you could get a reservation here for Dec in Nov then.

wl was still in demand - but it had alot less of the bunk beds than AKL did.

Disney follows the other timeshares in the area - right now they are using sleeping sofa - if they change would love a murply bed- but it and bunk beds (except at TH) are not happening.

think what you want is the price. good luck on that one. Wyndham bonnet creek is consider to be offsite for a reason - it is not a Disney resort nor is it on DIsney property (despite what their salespeople tell you) - you don't ger WDW transportation, DME, EMH, DDP, etc.that you get on a Disney property.
