Why does US/IOA close so early?

I am a total newb - only been to US 1x 12 years ago, have never been to IOA. We are going for a week 9/27-10/4 to do both parks plus SW. I just looked at the hours of operation and realized they close at 6pm Just curious why they close so early?.....I understand off season so I was thinking maybe 8 or 9...but 6? I guess the best game plan is to get there as soon as the park opens..

It is a very light attendance month.

Some of those days (the weekend days) also have HHN going on, so the Studios has to close early for that.

But, you should have no trouble getting everything done and more during that week.

It would be nice for the parks to stay open later...more locals could go after work instead of just weekends. During HHN, IOA is open until 7pm but that's about as late as it gets until holiday time.
