Why does TSMM keep going down?

i make it a habit to check wait times daily and just about every day I read where the ride is down. Does that mean something different than what I'm thinking or does anyone know why?

Yep. We were in Haunted Mansion the other day and witnessed a guest-related shut down. It was a family with two young boys. They put the youngest (who looked to be 4 maybe 5) in a doom buggy by himself and the parents got in the next buggy with the older boy. Cast members immediately stopped the ride and since we right behind them we got to witness all the steps they have to go through to bring the ride back up after a stoppage. Totally could have been prevented if the family just followed the rules. Even though the cast moved super efficiently it still took several minutes.

My 4yo nephew and I shut down Peter Pan's Flight because he wouldn't get in the moving boat. LOL The whole ride stopped a second time about halfway through. I assume it was for the same reason.
