why does the UG list March 27 2006 as crowded as Easter, New Years and Xmas?

Easter in 2006 is April 16th, yet the UG crowd level guide lists March 27th (a Monday almost 3 weeks before Easter) as a level 10 crowd-wise...that level is not seen any other time than the big three holidays, Easter, New Year's and Xmas...what gives? I realize it is Spring Break time for some places but Passover or Easter usually dictate the Northeastern school breaks, I think--and Passover is not until April 12th...so why is this Monday singled out as one the most crowded days of the year?

Don't know, but just fyi, here in the South, our spring breaks are usually in the middle to late March, regardless of when Easter and Passover are.

Yup, here in Connecticut, our breaks fall regardless of Easter and Passover -- a week in December, a week in Feb., and a week in April. There are always proposals to combine the Feb. and Apr. vacation weeks into 1 week in March, but it never seems to pass.

Recall someone posting that many Florida schools and many colleges have their Spring Breaks in March (again, independent of Easter and Passover).

Len can better answer UG questions -- perhaps '06 is based on '05 attendance.

Well, to begin with, Mondays are always a you-know-what at the MK.

As to the time of year, I think a lot of people forget how many different types of school schedules there are - not just in the US but abroad as well.

Pretty much the entire period between mid-February to late-April is usually pretty steady at WDW because of the constant flux of people on spring break. I usually avoid the parks that time of year for this very reason.

While I question such high crowd expectation as Christmas, etc., do expect it to be rather busy.

I'd have to wonder if it's, perhaps, a misprint since Easter in 2005 was March 27. Did they maybe update the book from copy and make a mistake?

Ah. When researching 2006 spring break schedules for public schools east of the Mississippi, that timeframe was the date mentioned most frequently by the largest public schools.

That makes sense, but I guess it is hard to believe that the massive crowding seen on an Easter that falls at the same time as such spring breaks--like it did this year--could then be split up between those last days of March and also 3 weeks later on Easter 2006 and still be as massive....but --I defer to the experts on this...just having trouble wrapping my brain around the idea that major holidays like Easter and Xmas could be equaled by a non-descript Monday in March---

Don't be fooled-- spring break CAN be just as crowded as the holiday's. Many schools no longer dictate their spring breaks by Easter (I'm in NY and our school stopped doing this a few years ago).

Our schools in Iowa also have spring break in March. It is usually the 2nd or 3rd week depending on the school district. We went to WDW last year during the 2nd week of March (Easter was April 10) and I said I would never go during spring break again. It was more crowded than when we usually go in June.

I'm very sad to read this as we were there this past EAster and while we had a great time the crowds were the worst I have ever experienced...including Christmas/New Years...

I was hoping 2006 it wouldn't be as crowded....
