Why Does the DIS Allow Members to Promote Reservation Sites?

What you are saying is true in some instances and not completely accurate in others. I am familiar with these systems too.

If what you were saying was true 100% of the time there would be no need for captcha technology or systems being affected when a number of users hit at the same time (DDOS). Depends on the receiving infrastructure.

Anyway, I've voiced my opinion enough times. If others want to use the services while they can, I completely understand.

I was only trying to clear up some misinformation that was presented here. The way you are describing a DDOS atack isn't accurate. DDOS looks to flood a system with calls. Captca is only used to filter spam or automated posting. They are used for different purposes because it's a front end user interface vs a back end system used for service. I just want to make sure that all the facts are presented correctly.

Sorry for the confusion. I am fully aware they are two separate issues. One is a type of attack (DDOS) that looks to bring a system down with the amount of hits - I was not saying the sites like Scout are doing this.

I was saying that depending on how it's coded and the receiving infrastructure, automated trolling of the WDW reservation site by places like Scout could adversely affect it.

That isn't presenting facts incorrectly.

Anyway, like I said, my point was not directed at the users of these services. My overall feeling is that these places will cause problems for the general public and Disney will crack down eventually. If it does, I guess the DIS will stop the postings. If not, then I am wrong.

We decided to book a trip late, so we were 3 months behind on trying to book popular ADRs, with the use of these services I have been able to get a couple that I've been hoping for. I see what the OP is saying, at the same time it is a useful service that I am glad to have.

I have a trip in 31 days. I went online and booked all my dining and in fact cancelled and re-booked. Got all the reservations I wanted. But as a side note I'm not a person to get "stuck" on one restaurant at a specific time. I took BOG at 11am rather than the dinner I originally wanted.
