Why does SW schedule only go through 10/29?

Our next trip to WDW is 10/24 - 10/30. We've been trying to book our flight on SW for weeks. Their schedule only goes to 10/29.

Why would they end their schedule on a Friday (when many people travel from weekend to weekend) - and it is not even the end of the month. One of the other airlines I checked ended on the 29th also.

Does anyone have any idea if there is some logic behind this? When I call SW, they say they have no idea and also no idea when further dates will be released.

Because they post their dates 4 to 6 months out. The date usually ends in a "9".

While most of the main line, old school air carriers consistently make flights and fares available 331 days in advance on a rolling basis, Southwest and some of other discounters have their own systems. It doesn't appear to me that Southwest has a consistent schedule for putting out new dates nor are the consistent with the size of the blocks they release. Usually they release about a month of dates 5-6 months in advance, but sometimes they release a bigger block and sometimes it's a little later (take now, for example).

Many of the other discounters have based their business model on Southwest and I'm guessing just follow their lead for when they release dates and how many dates they release. That's the only reason I can think of that would explain why another carrier also would have dates through just October 29.

Southwest should have their next released dates out at any time, but who knows if they'll go through late November or if they'll go into some or all of December.
