Why Does Stupid Stuff Happen to Me?

I work in Human Resoucres and I thought I had seen it all. This morning I took the mail out of my box. There is a letter from a disability company addressed to me. I'm thinking I don't have that, than I look at the letter and it refers to an employee asking for additional information. I look at the form this employee filled out and my signature is forged! It was really good too. I took a double take. I don't even handle this type of verification. If this person had filled in a date, it would never of been returned to me! I'm not a paranoid person, but it makes you think of identity theft.

I took it to my bosses and it's in thier hands now. Needless to say, the person is in some trouble. We did have a good laugh at it as they elevated my job title, made me an administrator! Kind of creeps me out.

Whowa!!! NO way!! Now I have heard it all too!! That is awful.. makes you wonder if you should make all employees fill out the paperwork in your office (or at least that specific person).. Oh, that is just awful!!! I would be fuming!! Did you inquire with your bosses' why you didn't get the pay raise, notification, or a big office w/ a window for your new job?? I sure hope they handle that individual.. that is just awful... Hope it gets straightened out!!

Where I work? I already have a window and my cubical is a little larger. It would be nice to have walls that go up to the ceiling! There are 6 of us in my area. I do work with some good people, but money is tight.

Your office sounds like DH's.. he has a cubicle too..and he said he is so over hearing about his one co-worker's sex life that he is ready to build and fund his own wall project... DH doesn't have a window..

I used to work in Personnel too! You get all kinds.... It's good that the idiot was stupid and made a mistake so it came back to you! At least you were able to catch him/her at their game! I am a bit surprised that you can't press charges, since that is a criminal offense! You ought to check into that. Question your boss as to why they didn't suggest that route? Or at least give you the option? This person did forge your name, I would be kinda upset over that!!!! Also worried about if they did it before???? YOU need to look out for YOU, cause no one else will!!!!

I work for county government, so it will be refered to the Prosecuting Attorney's office. Having my name forged did creep me out. If it hadn't come back, I wouldn't of been any the wiser. Scary. I went online and got a copy of all my credit reports at annualcreditroport.com, for free. I don't know if the employee will retaliate or not. you nver know. We tease each other here at work that with some of our employees, it's always a "full moon!" I have come to the conclusion that I don't even want to guess what some of these people are thinking! LOL!

I have one co-worker who talks so loud on the phone that everyone can hear! And another sometimes plays rap music. Sometimes I can even hear the smokers who gather near my window talking too! I sometimes use my earbuds and listen to radio over the computer, but I'd love to find a pair that has a cord longer than 3 ft. One day I went to open a drawer on the other side of my cubical and gave myself whiplash! LOL!

Whiplash.. I'll have to ask DH about that.. he too listens to the computer radio stations!!
As for your credit reports..call and have them put a fraud alert on your account... That way if anyone applies for credit.. the credit agencies have to call you to verify it was YOU that applied... I know DH and I did that when a laptop w/ sensitive info on it was stolen at his office (something to do with the wellness program and our health insurance)..anyway, they emailed all the employees and told them to call and have the fraud alert put on.. We did immediately and the only time we have been called was when we were applying for our van loan..otherwise no one has tried anything..probably couldn't open the file the info was saved on...it was password protected...
