My friend - drives me crazy with some of her baby talk -- well she has now taken to calling herself

Kitt Katt

and

Kwissy Bwear

ARRRRRRRGGGHHHHH -- it drives me nuts!!

ETA -- thanks for letting me vent  I feel much better now.

Hmm, isn't there a rule about picking your own nicknames anyway?

Maybe she needs to get out of the house more.

Does she ask for a dibby-dab of salad? ;)

Well, that was MY first thought! :rotfl:

How old IS this person anyway? If anyone referred to me like that, I'd slap 'em into next week--I can't imagine starting something like that MYSELF.

she is 36 years old - I know, I know .... as much as it drives me crazy - it is sad

and now -

I just checked my answering machine and it says "Hi - Kitt Katt here - give me a call."

I am tempted to call back and say "Please stop calling my number - I don't know any Kitt Katt"

silly that it bothers me so much

Uggh adults that talk baby talk drives me bonkers. There's a new AA at work that does it and I seriously want to slap her. Her very first day she walked in the building and exclaimed "I almost got blowed away". I have no idea who this woman is. She never introduced herself- she just started talking baby talk. Oh and she yelled at me for tapping the mic in the auditorium (I'm the training person for the AV system - she has no authority over the equipment at all). and why did she yell at me? Because it hurts the mic's feelings and gives it an owie

Not silly at all, it is obnoxious. Do this. When you're together with her and she talks like that, just make a face that lets her know you think she's nuts. Sort of like the face you make when someone says WDW is only for little kids.

people like that drive me crazy.

and the mic lady...yeah...thats just strange.

The close cousin of baby talker is "overly enthusiastic woman" Those of you loyal Seinfeld fans will remember Elaine's coworker who was always over the top happy and enthusiastic. grrrrrrrrrr

I haven't posted for quite a while, but I do look in often. My favorite tag is "Don't ask me for a dibby dab of salad". Just how dibby is a dab?

ROFL! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I agree - you cannot pick your own nicknames NOR can you refer to yourself in the 3rd person...

Cathryn is done commenting on this....

Next time she talks that way, tell her that if she does it again you're going to shove a real Kit Katt down her widdle bitty throat.

LOL Yes, Jenz...you must. I don't want to run into her somewhere.

There was a REALLY obnoxious woman on Dr Phil one time who talked like that to her husband. Exactly WHAT did that guy (seemingly normal) see in her???
Julie uses baby talk to get her way with her husband Kyle. She says that nine and a half times out of 10, it works.

She demonstrates: "Pwease Kyle, pwease .... I weally, weally want to go out to dinner. Pwease, can we go? With sprinkles?" Talking this way has gotten Julie a kitten ... and she admits that she even baby talked Kyle into proposing to her!
Yes...she needs to go too. ::yes::

oh believe me she will soon understand why it's not a good idea to be on my bad side. In the meantime, we call her Elmer :rotfl2:
I didn't yell at her about the mic thing too much. She also decided to imply she was much more technically adept than I am so I let her have at it without training and she made a fool of herself in front of about 40 people - including visiting professors and the dean.

Well I don't need her to protect me; I've got an owie for you too!

:teeth:

Maybe you should get her a widdle bitty A/V system of her own

so she can nurture it as she sees fit.

I work with a lady that on her first day of the job she told me her name was Fluffy. I kid you not! She said it with such a straight face. Later on she told me to call her that because her husband always said she was fluffy. No, I did not call her that. I found out her real name and always refer to her as that.
