Why does no one seem to want deck 2?

There seems to be a lot of cabins always available on deck 2 on the cruises I am looking at? Is it a noisy area to be in, or what?

traditionally deck two has been noisy during peek cruising times(ie overnight) when the engines are working full blast. however due to a new propulsion system on the Disney Dream that should be lessened if not eliminated.

We were on deck 1 on the Magic and loved the sound of the slight humming engines lulling us to sleep. Great white noise!

i am a little concern too if it is really noise as our gty cabin is on deck 2

I always thought it was a bad deck until we were assigned it. Now we request it. It's by far our favorite deck.

Well this is good news that the deck isn't that bad. Also, we will have quick access to Enchanted Garden!!

We are assigned deck 2 also on the Dream, I'm glad we're close to the Enchanted Garden.

I guess i should have clarified more. The lower decks on the Magic and Wonder have a vibrated hum sound from the shaft and engines. However, On the dream and fantasy there is no shaft. They are being outfitted with AZIPOD systems. They look like jet engines that swivel 360 degrees which eliminate the need for rear thrusters. there is no actual NOISE just a humming that some people can't sleep with, including me. all decks on all of the ships are very nice and you just have to decide if you can sleep with humming.

We have sailed on decks 2 and 6 on both the Magic and the Wonder and Deck 5 on the Wonder and 7 on the Magic. Deck 2 is my favorite. We are booked on deck 2 on a B2B next year on the Wonder. I'll have to wait until I sail on the Dream to decide which deck I prefer.

Deck 2 is our preferred deck on the Magic and Wonder. We've stayed there 3 times now.

I've never noticed any propulsion noise, or any other noise problem. If it's there I guess our brains must have just filtered it out as "white noise".

We love it because it's so easy to walk right up to decks 3 and 4 for meals and entertainment.

It also makes it very easy to get up to decks 9 and 10--we never have the problem of the elevator being full when it comes. We usually step right on to an empty elevator.

We love deck 2 (at least on the Magic and the Wonder). It's easy to get to everything and we haven't found it to be any noisier than other decks.

We had no problem with noise when we sailed in 2021 on the Wonder a few years ago.
