My 16 yr. old dd can't leave her door open because our year old pom loves to pee on her stuff especially her bedding. I know that if we get home late he might have an accident but he seems to be trying to pee on her stuff what's the deal?
We used to have a pom that you couldn't even say "hello" to without him peeing on the floor.. And if you came in the house wearing any type of uniform, he would immediately pee on your leg.. LOL
Peeing on only your DD's things though may be some kind of "spite" issue - like he's feeling abandoned by her and not receiving enough attention from her..
I know that "pee" route all too well - our pom lived to be 13 years old.. Maybe a call to the vet is in order..
We had a "peeing" POM too! It was years ago. Our vet told us that many Poms have mental issues and short of going to a dog shrink and doing behavior modifacation stuff, there isn't a whole lot you can do.
Oh great. He was bought for her but soon became "my" dog he doesn't let me out of his sight when I'm home. I guess she'll just have to keep her door closed.
my guess is also a spite issue...when my chihuahua gets mad she pees on that persons bed. She was abused by a former roommate and I only found this out after the fact that she refused to pee every morning and waited for him to open his door...ran in and peed on his bed. She was MAD at him!!! It could be lack of attention from DD or perhaps (small dogs are sensitive to this) her tone towards the dog has changed.
We have a cat that only pees on DH's clothes. We've never been able to figure out why! The cat likes us both so it can't be that. Never know what's going on in their wee little minds!
