If "experience" was all that mattered, we should have elected Robert C. Byrd.

you think I'm gonna argue with you about THAT

*gasp*
I hope you don't let her make decisions for herself! I mean...without your experience, she could...you know...run with scissors or something.
I'm always there to help out when needed.![]()

Really? Candidates are turning their backs during the National Anthem?
And I suspect most of the people that consider themselves true Americans are not because by your definition they have not been tortured while fighting for their country. Which, by the way, is not a requirement to be President.
say what you well, the conservative movement is far from dead.![]()
When I was in the Persian Gulf back in the early 90's, my wife was only 8.![]()
Then why throw out the "McCain has more "experience" because he's older line?
Robert Byrd should not have been elected to the city council...the pork barrel KluKlux Klansmen of the Senate....
McCain has real world experience in the military having been a POW which lends him a lot of credibility in terms of the the inner workings of our military especially in the precarious instability facing America in so many regions in the world.
John McCain was a POW when Obama was playing with Legos. I hardly think comparing McCain's experience to that of Byrd is a relavent argument...obviously the "type of experience matters a whole lot...

Not because he's older -- because he has more experience!
Graduate US Naval Academy
Combat Pilot -- almost incinerated when his plane caught on fire and exploded on the USS Forrestal (anyone seen THAT video? -- WOW!)
Shot down, over Vietnam and spent 6+ years being tortured.
Refused to be released from prison before his fellow prisoners(remember his daddy was an Admiral at the time) by the Vietnamese in a PR move by them.
Served in the US Senate for 20+ YEARS
Sponsored many, many pieces of legislation, reaching across party lines to get things done he felt were RIGHT, despite the heat he took from his own party.
Experience? John McCain is a leader.
Obama?
Harvard law graduate
Editor of the Harvard Law Review
Illinois state Senator
US Senator for 4 years
# of pieces of sponsored legislation passed in US Senate? Can't think of one.
Gives good speeches.
It's hard to pin somebody down on their record when they don't have one.

Well now that's just straight up bragging, and very unbecoming of a former military man...

yeah, I've seen that photo a few times, but it never loses it's impact.
I was a gung ho McCain supporter in 2000 and I really thought he was going to win. I liked his common sense approach to things and I loved that he called out the televangelists for their "intolerance". Of course, by the time the primary hit NJ in JUNE-GW had it wrapped up.
Sadly, he doesn't seem to be the same guy he was in 2000-although now that he has the nomination that could change.
Aint that the truth.
He has accepted the endorsement of Pastor John Hagee who hates Catholics, Gays, Blacks and New Orleans.![]()
Accepting it would be bad enough...he actually courted the guy. Can you imagine the uproar if Obama had courted the endorsement of Louis Farrakhan or Clinton had courted the endorsement of Jane Fonda?

Wow, he could be. That would be scary. Only Christians can be President-we can't trust anyone that doesn't pray to the right God.
Wow, I didn't know he sought the guy out! This from the same guy who called Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson "agents of intolerance"???

Newsflash!
This morning I had an extended breakfast with Senator John McCain of Arizona. Our topic of discussion was Israel and his candidacy for the Presidency of the United States of America.
Senator McCain's comments concerning Israel are on target! He gets it! While I do not want to put the specifics of our conversation in this update I am glad to report to our leadership and supporters that John McCain is solidly pro-Israel.
We discussed his positions on other matters that I will share with you when I speak with you in person. This newsflash goes to the ends of the earth and I don't want to read it in the media tomorrow.
