Why does it take so long to get a wedding planner on the phone?

I would recommend emailing your planner instead of trying to call. Remember, they are in charge of a lot of weddings and planning sessions and are in and out of the office frequently. My planner usually gets back to me within a week via email.

I have found this terribly frustrating myself -- been waiting for 2 weeks for a return call on available wedding dates >:(

I think they just do have tons to do and lots of us calling. Not that that makes all ok but I will tell you from experience that some are better at email than others and that will almost always get you acknowldgement of your email. Also send things to the planner and his or her assistant because often they can answer questions as well. The system isn't perfect but it ends up working surprisingly well. Have a little faith and trust they do know what they are doing. The lack of super frequent and clearcommunication was hard for is at times as well. Hang in there!

Odd... our planners have always gotten back to us within a couple the days at most?

I am thinking of an 11/11/11 wedding any chance of gettin that date?

So, does this mean you don't have an actual planner yet? If that's true, then you will first talk to a sales consultant. Once you book your date, then you will be assigned a planner. If you have already contacted DFTW, they will be in contact with you eventually. I know how hard it is to be patient, but trust that they do know what they are doing!
