Ok...so I decided on what I do not like about FP +... Having to make my choices at midnight when I have to go to work the next day! I told my colleagues to not even ask me why I was soooooo tired! :crazy2:

Anyone else had the same experience?

I totally agree. It should be in the morning hours.

Yep. It took me 40 min. to finish them all. Tired.

Well, it isn't ALWAYS as early as Midnight.
There are many nights (when MK's regular hours run until 1AM or later) when guests
cannot make their FP+ reservations until 1AM Eastern Time.

The purple link in my signature addresses the 12:00a/1:00a thing.

You mean you guys aren't up until midnight and then awake at 6am for ADRs too. Must be nice to get that much sleep:)

Hmm! I did not stay up late or get up early and still got the FPs I wanted. I may not have gotten the time I would like for A&E but I still got it:)

I think some folks really need timing to be nailed down; it's possible they are trying to coordinate an A&E fp time for half of their party along with another fp for the other half. Getting on at midnight (or 1am) provides a greater opportunity for that.

It can also be very important if your trip is at a particularly BUSY time at WDW.

Are you saying that it is best to get on at Midnight or 1:00 a.m. because that is how the system currently works, or that there is something unique about midnight or 1:00 a.m. that provides a greater opportunity for nailing down timing? The former I follow. The latter I don't. Some people who are a lot smarter than any of us said it best: Time is Relative.

Also, there is no predicting exactly HOW MANY OTHER guests will be (or won't be) deciding to book FP+ at the very same time that you are doing so. For instance, if a large group of guests coming in on your check-in day, and their country or city in a more favorable timezone than you (Midnight Eastern US Time is not "the middle of the night" in their region,)
they could conceivably grab the FP+ that you intended to book.

And, there just MIGHT happen to be more guests who just decided to stay up late on your
particular booking night. You just won't know in advance, one way or the other.

So, just because it looks like Midnight Eastern is not worth "staying up for," it just MIGHT be what makes the difference in what FP+ you can get.

Sometime in August our 60-day window will open for our October trip to WDW. While I look forward to the trip itself (as of now), I do not at all relish the idea of getting on MDE at midnight to try to figure out not only which parks I want to go to on which days, but to micro-plan all the way to what attractions I want to visit at what times. I agree with a previous poster: it is crazy.

I'm getting a bit long in the tooth for this kind of thing, but I feel I will be so mentally tired from the wee hours planning that it's hard for me to get excited about the vacation itself.

I already knew which parks on which days.
I worked those out for the meal reservations, which I had made months earlier.

Knowing which parks, I already knew which FP+ I wanted for those parks, too.

It was a pretty quick enterprise to make those FP+ reservations from my list, which I had already made up during "regular daytime hours" well in advance of my 60-day mark.

All that said...
I am NOT a fan of FP+.
Many of us here understand it, and help others to use it,
but it is NOT a "feature" of WDW that I enjoy.

Midnight works perfectly for me since that's actually the middle of the day here in Australia :)

I'm also going to a few Taylor Swift concerts during my trip - I had to be up from 1am to 5am to buy those tickets!

We all have our crosses to bear!

Hmm, I'm not exactly sure I understand what you are asking. I meant that if you want to try to get an FP+ for A&E for 3 people and, say, the mine train for another 2 with a large overlap (because you will be together before and after on rides) and you have a tentative time you would like this to happen, e.g., between 10 and 12, there may be a greater opportunity to get that at midnight/1am than the next morning. Not that it isn't possible to do so at a reasonable hour on your fp day, but for my trip A&E were readily available at midnight for all time slots. In the morning hours, several of the morning slots were gone on the two days I was looking at for it. Could you just book for different timeslots and reconfigure things and deal? Of course, but it may be worth it to do less juggling, especially if you have several situations where you are trying to reserve different sets of FP at the same time a few times during the day, but still want to be together the rest.
