Why does it get so Dusty behind the TV

I think that the electronics generate static electricity which draws the dust. I could be really wrong, and stand corrected if I am.

I just dusted behind my TV, and my only conclusion is it happens because it's very hard to reach back there.

the FRONT of my Tv gets horribly dusty before it should - it has to be the static!!!

I agree that it has to be the static. I hate dust, especially around the tv. It seems like I could do this everyday and still get dust off of there.

While all the static COULD be the reason, I personally believe there are little elves that come in my house at night and sprinkle dust in all the hard-to-reach areas of my house. Then they sneak into the laundry and steal half my socks.

If you've seen the Sharper Image commercial for their Ionic Breeze air cleaner where the guy cleans the gunk off the collection rods, that's pretty much what your TV is. It's an air cleaner. There's really no way to stop it.

I have trouble keeping dust off my PC too. I just opened up my PC to clean it. HUGE dust bunnies inside. I'd hate to think what it would look like if I wasn't vacuuming every other day due to dog hair.

I've often said this, too...why do we call it a TV "set" when you only get one?

Kind of like how we wear a "pair" of panties but only one bra...

The same reason that a half inch hair magicaly appears under my chin. I did not see it when it was 1/8 inch or even 1/4 inch. How can it be a half inch long instantly!!!

Personally my only reaction is ewwww when I see the amount of dust that can accumulate that quickly.

But it is one of the reasons I love my new DLP. No dust buildup. I know it's all still there, but it's not all in one place reminding me that it is there.
